Thank you. Following this case with sadness and disgust.

fairgame84 Sun 15-Apr-18 21:10:51

Checking in.
Hopefully the Army will be less active tomorrow with school and work and the hysteria won't be as bad until the evening.

I am truly shocked at the ignorance of Alfie's Army, clearly these people have not read the judgement!

trwyn Sun 15-Apr-18 21:11:37

I wonder what the 'Army' are going to go and do once this is over? These people with their grief porn, what cause are they going to find next?

MynameisJune Sun 15-Apr-18 21:14:14

A Mum from inside the hospital did a live video to show you could hear the noise. Below is the response of the ‘army’

MorningsEleven Sun 15-Apr-18 21:14:40

If they're back in court tomorrow I can't see it calming down.

I almost feel the family should take him to Italy, maybe then they would appreciate the commitment of the team at AH.

MrsFassy Sun 15-Apr-18 21:14:51

I'm another completely shocked at the ignorance displayed by the "army". I'm also disgusted with their lack of understanding as to how their actions could be affecting other children who are probably already scared. It's truly staggering.

SickofThomasTheTank Sun 15-Apr-18 21:16:14

I can't believe how many people there are that actually believe you can (sorry to be blunt here) grow a new brain...

A quote from Instagram - "Brain cells are constantly regenerating"

As someone on the first thread said, you can't reason with stupid.

FlyingBird Sun 15-Apr-18 21:17:28

Responding to a comment from the last thread about a pregnant nurse having her car blocked and being frightened and crashing:

That poor, poor woman. I imagine the police have been wary of taking action because of the right to protest peacefully as well as the high profile and sensitive nature of this issue. But if it carries on like this, It's surely only a matter of time before arrests will need to be made.

Scrumptiousbears Sun 15-Apr-18 21:17:31

I was getting a bit confused earlier. On the FB Page it seemed like the family/admins on the official page were asking that people don't protest in different parts of the country but even the "army" seemed to turn against them saying they could do what they liked. Shows it's just a cause they want to latch onto and that cause could be anything really.

chandlersfraud Sun 15-Apr-18 21:19:12

I think that is the thing really - that the 'army' on the whole seem misinformed and ignorant and have not read the judgement.

I don't think that doctors are always right and should never be challenged but there really does not seem to be hope here.

All the stuff about Alfie being a miracle waiting to happen, to let him go to Italy 'for treatment' (I believe they are not saying they can treat him but are offering hope of a diagnosis at the most?) and there seems to be complete failure to realise that the hospital operate within the law and decisions in these difficult cases are made by the courts.

Grrr it's so frustrating and sad!! And perhaps the father is coming from a place of grief and desperation but he sadly thinks that rallying people to the hospital, & asking them to come is going to help when it's doing a lot more harm.

So ironic that they are calling for Alfie to be 'released'.

Aliasgrace1 Sun 15-Apr-18 21:20:58

It's absolutely terrible, haven't had chance to catch up with the other thread but have you seen the bouncy castle? Totally inappropriate!

That poor baby Alfie is just getting lost in all of this.

Stopyourhavering64 Sun 15-Apr-18 21:21:01
A very clear explanation of the situation

MayhemandMadness01 Sun 15-Apr-18 21:21:40

Am I right in thinking that the court case tomorrow is about clarification over a piece of law, its not actually going to change the decision?

PutOnAHappyFace Sun 15-Apr-18 21:21:57

Literally sick of people saying you can't hear anything, I'm gonna invite the next person who says it to come to our room.

GrooovyLass Sun 15-Apr-18 21:22:05

Checking in here. It's like a parody, isn't it, with people trying to outdo each other with sympathy and vitriol.

BangingOn Sun 15-Apr-18 21:25:07

Thanks for the new thread.

What worries me is that AA seem to have even more unstoppable momentum than CA. I felt in that case that the parents wouldn’t be able to change their minds for fear of the the mob and it is even more so here.

qu1rky Sun 15-Apr-18 21:25:10

I haven't really been keeping up with this but had a poke round the FB page before they closed it.
The family had posted a letter that said life support was to withdrawn last Friday at noon. The photo was removed and another put up with the date redacted.
Have they somehow overturned this ruling?

TheFairyCaravan Sun 15-Apr-18 21:25:50

They are all so vile and abusive. This is about a child that they don’t know, who they have never met. Imagine if they did know them?

MynameisJune Sun 15-Apr-18 21:26:21

@mayhem yes tomorrow is based around habeas corpus or unlawful inprisonment. Because the family state that they are legally allowed to remove Alfie from Alder Hey but AH are stopping them and got the injunction late on Thursday night after the attempt to move Alfie.

stitchglitched Sun 15-Apr-18 21:26:54

The responses to anyone who even politely makes a comment about not disrupting other patients, including actual parents in AH, are so abusive. Yesterday I saw comments such as 'Fuck the others, we're here for Alfie' and one woman being called bitch, cow and looking up her profile and commenting on her kids. They are rabid.
