We're having twice cooked pork ribs with a five spice, garlic and chilli glaze, corn on the cob, onion rings (from the freezer), coleslaw and wedges. For dinner later we're having roast chicken with stuffing, roast and mashed potatoes, cabbage, cauli and broccoli cheese, leeks and carrots. I'm making a sort of bread and butter pudding thing with croissants and golden syrup for dessert as I have a load of whipped cream left over from a batch of scones I did yesterday for a Guide fair.
I'm doing Chinese dishes, roast duck with pancakes, fishball noodle soup a veg dish and maybe some sweet chilli pork. The dreaded chicken porridge which I hate but DS loves.
It's snowy here, I have everything in to make this. I'm half Chinese so was taught to cook by my Dad. My Mother did also teach me to cook a good roast and also stuff like pancakes. DH doesn't care what we eat but DS prefers Chinese food totally.
You have a ham hock in your fridge. Could you bake it in foil (after simmering in cider or some such?) and serve with mash and veg or salad with honey and walnut mustard dressing or pea puree or something?
We are having slow roast pork belly slices, roast potatoes, honey roasted carrots and parsnips, spiced red cabbage, broccoli and lashings of gravy, followed by a zzz and then some sticky toffee pudding. Cannot wait
