Anyone else expecting snow any day now? Am in Essex, and we have a weather warning for it....

RandomMess Sun 25-Feb-18 20:35:54

I am in denial, I may have to hide this thread!!

PinkSquash Sun 25-Feb-18 20:36:24

I'm in Devon and the forecast is snow between Tuesday and Friday, I'm dreading it already.

SquirmOfEels Sun 25-Feb-18 20:44:28

You might be interested in the main 'weather' thread:

and also 'wear your thicker cardie' thread

Thanks SquirmOfEels Sorry, didn't realise other threads had been started smile

SquirmOfEels Sun 25-Feb-18 21:00:48

Aagh - sorry too. I wasn't meaning to tick you off, and realise it might have come across like that. I really did just think what I said - you might like the other threads!

MN has a grand tradition of multiple threads on one sinbject, after all.

And chat without the north/south divide isn't such a bad idea.

DC would love to have a snow day next week, and it wouldn't be difficult for me if they did. DH has a couple of meetings he has to travel for, so it might get a little complicated for him. We're in London, which is yellow warning some days, but nothing amber that I've spotted so far. But forecasts do seem to be changing quite a lot, especially the possibility of more snow at end of the coming week.

LoudestRoar Sun 25-Feb-18 21:45:49

Don't worry SquirmOfEels honestly didn't come across as ticking off at all flowers Off to have a look at those threads as well.
Secretly I'm hoping we get lots, already planning in taking ds to school via sled 😂

disorganisedmummy Sun 25-Feb-18 21:51:11

LoudestRoar I'm also in Essex, far south east so we rarely get the bad weather but it does seem to be saying it will come to our little corner. Can't be doing with it really. It causes so much agro.

Feckitall Sun 25-Feb-18 22:08:42

I will believe it when I see it here!

frankie001 Sun 25-Feb-18 22:14:45

I’m in north London and am already grumpy at the thought of snow and the cold weather.

EdithWeston Mon 26-Feb-18 07:22:49

It's all very confusing, but just seen Carole (BBC weather) and it could be as much as 7+ inches on Thursday

That is enough to bugger Britain!

Appuskidu Mon 26-Feb-18 07:31:02

Is it really going to reach the far SE- the forecast I’ve just seen suggests it’ll be a flop!?

Knitjob Mon 26-Feb-18 07:33:58

We never get snow so I'm paying it no attention whatsoever. My kids have never had a snow day.
Although maybe this will be it, that would be very exciting.

SquirmOfEels Mon 26-Feb-18 07:34:41

It might.

I'm in London, which has yellow warnings. There's an amber warning over parts of Kent and the very furthers SE parts of greater London.

But I think the deeper snow is further north - the most pessimistic I've seen for the SE is up to 10cms (that's about 4 inches) and could well be no more than <2cms

Im in south london zone 5. We have snow falling atm. Not enough to settle though sad

Accountant222 Mon 26-Feb-18 07:39:38

It's snowing in Rotherham

Bluesheep8 Mon 26-Feb-18 07:42:21

I'm on the edge of the pennines and It's snowing very lightly here. There's due to be lots on Tues and weds.

LoudestRoar Mon 26-Feb-18 07:53:01

It haa begun.....

lifechangesforeverinjuly Mon 26-Feb-18 07:54:15

We have snow in Leeds sad been going about an hour but very light. 20 weeks pregnant with a chest infection, not what I'd hope for! I'm doing my absolute best to stay indoors.

SparklyMagpie Mon 26-Feb-18 07:55:49

I'm in the north west, and it's started snowing in Stockport which I wasn't expecting ha

Has made DS very happy

SparklyMagpie Mon 26-Feb-18 07:56:11

Oh but then again it's very light

JessyJames Mon 26-Feb-18 07:56:20

Light snow in Surrey, Epsom area. It's gradually getting heavier and settling.

Appuskidu Mon 26-Feb-18 07:56:36

Essex seems to be in a tiny Amber warning for about ten minutes and then the rest of the snow is elsewhere. Carole Kirkwood says that Thursday looks really tricky but it’s v far in the future and might not actually happen!

TeddyIsaHe Mon 26-Feb-18 07:56:38

Very light dusting here in the east. Bloody freezing though!

SparklyMagpie Mon 26-Feb-18 07:57:15

Just said that but now it seems to be coming down a little heavier
