So excited, snow predicted here this morning. Do you have any?

MongerTruffle Tue 16-Jan-18 06:33:51

We haven’t had proper snow in many years unfortunately.

speakout Tue 16-Jan-18 06:34:45

No, here neither, but looking to be a white out today.

OccasionalNachos Tue 16-Jan-18 06:35:43

Yes, west of Scotland. Looks good!

Creambun2 Tue 16-Jan-18 06:38:10

Unless it happens in london and the home counties who cares?

Justgotobed Tue 16-Jan-18 06:38:50

Yes a fair bit , West of Scotland as well.

FormerlyFrikadela01 Tue 16-Jan-18 06:40:02

We've had a very light dusting here in west yorkshire. I'm glad it wasn't more... I'm working and snow causes me so much anxiety about getting to and from work.

Bloody love it when I'm not though.

speakout Tue 16-Jan-18 06:43:04

Yes, just looked out, we have a light dusting too- still pitch black of course.

speakout Tue 16-Jan-18 06:44:00

Feels so cold this morning, decided to have a hot bath this morning instead of a shower before the school run.

fluffygreenmonsterhoody Tue 16-Jan-18 06:44:06

Light dusting in West Lothian. Disappointed because I thought we’d have loads by now!

MadisonAvenue Tue 16-Jan-18 06:44:53

Thankfully nothing here yet where I am in the Midlands.

speakout Tue 16-Jan-18 06:45:39

fluffygreenmonsterhoody check out the BBC weather forecast or a snow radar web site, there is lots of snow heading your way.

WeeBunnyFooFoo Tue 16-Jan-18 06:47:17

West of Scotland we have a small amount but forecast heavy throughout the day - hoping dc can get a snowman made later 😁

fluffygreenmonsterhoody Tue 16-Jan-18 06:47:24

It was meant to be here already tho!

Redglitter Tue 16-Jan-18 06:51:42

Nope none - West of Scotland

PickAChew Tue 16-Jan-18 06:54:29

A dusting. I don't want more. We only have half a roof and want it finished before tomorrow night.

SheGotOffThePlane Tue 16-Jan-18 07:00:18

I'm also in West- Central Scotland and there's loads! The first morning in a long time I leapt out of bed before my alarm grin love the snow!

ScouseQueen Tue 16-Jan-18 07:00:21

Nothing here. Disappointed.

WickedGoodDoge Tue 16-Jan-18 07:14:22

fluffy I’m in West Lothian too and it’s been snowing heavily here since 6:30! You need to move closer to me!

I’ve decided to keep DD off school today <after waking her at 6 to tell her there was only a light dusting so she needed to go in> . It’s supposed to last all day and I don’t want her getting stuck this afternoon.

To anyone in Scotland:

Do the schools tend to close in Scotland where you are if it snows? I’m
guessing you get more snow than down south? Or are things set up more for snow where you are?

RoseDog Tue 16-Jan-18 07:27:32

Letseatgrandme the schools only close when the buses go off, that seems to be the rule in dundee.

We just have a wee dusting this morning.

speakout Tue 16-Jan-18 07:29:39

Letseatgrandma yes they sometimes close Usually the ones in rural locations- depends how much snow of course. It can be hazardous if children have to travel country roads- many from rural schools may come by taxi. Sometimes staff can't get in either.
At our secondary school they will sometimes send the kids home from the rural communities and keep local ones in school.

WickedGoodDoge Tue 16-Jan-18 07:30:20

Where I am in West Lothian we don’t tend to get much snow at all. The last proper snow was back in 2010(?) and DC’s school was closed for nearly two weeks- though part of that was heating problems. My DC are now at a school 15 miles away and I don’t think it ever really closes but it has a bad weather policy whereby if parents think it’s too bad to send their children in, we can just phone and say.

speakout Tue 16-Jan-18 07:32:10

YESSSS!!! Just started to snow- big fluffy flakes and it is lying.

Ginmakesitallok Tue 16-Jan-18 07:32:22

Our schools only close if the buses stop running - and it takes quite a bit of snow for that to happen. I hate snow!
