What are your favourites? I'm fascinated by the case of Maura Murray who went missing in 2004. Probably because she is the same age as me. I really hope it is solved one day but I suspect it won't be........

Are there any cases you think about or that baffle you?

makingmiracles Thu 11-Jan-18 19:22:24

Yes, thenobvious one being MM, I have my own theory on that and I don’t think it involves the parents. The other one is the dugger family, a very old case and sadly prob will never be resolved but a strange case indeed.
I have to admit my secret hobby is reading web sleuthsblush

makingmiracles Thu 11-Jan-18 19:23:16

When I say Mm it’s not the same person as you mentioned, just to clarify!

VivaLeBeaver Thu 11-Jan-18 19:23:26

Zodiac killer.
the original night stalker

MyBrilliantDisguise Thu 11-Jan-18 19:23:28

What do you think happened, makingmiracles? I'm not interested in theories regarding her mum and dad, so I'd like to hear yours.

ivykaty44 Thu 11-Jan-18 19:23:45

Have a look at Rita Sayer

BSintolerant Thu 11-Jan-18 19:31:15

What's the Dugger family mystery? Google isn't helping me.

Drogonssmile Thu 11-Jan-18 19:39:34

Joyce Carol Vincent is another strange case. It's sad really rather than unexplained..........can't find anything on Rita Sayer, will keep trying

MM is the obvious one, yes, but we aren't allowed to mention it wink

@makingmiracles it's my favourite hobby too blush when DH is away, as he is tonight, and the kids are in bed. I like to get sucked into the virtual rabbit holes surrounding these cases. Reddit is a great place for them smile

I think lots of the mysteries are not really mysterious at all.

Maura Murray ran off into the wood because she had been drinking and police were called. Got lost in the snow, took shelter and died. Just not found.

Other MM the same. Woke up, went to look for parents, got lost and fell down some sort of hole on a building site or in undergrowth or went onto beach and was swept away. Just not found.

Looks like the same happened to Ben Needham - wandered off onto building site and was fatally injured by dumper truck. Not found.

I don't think they are necessarily crimes at all.

Ooooh yes VivaLeBeaver the zodiac killer is bizarre. Probably dead now.

Joyce Carol Vincent fascinated me as well. I wondered what happened to her as domestic violence can be so damaging. I sometimes listen to that Alice Temple song come undone from the documentary and think about her.

Do you mean Rita Sawyer? That case was solved.

ilovesooty Thu 11-Jan-18 22:10:23

Bible John.

makingmiracles Thu 11-Jan-18 23:38:14

@mybrilliantdisguise see pm about theory on she who will not be discussed on mn

@BSintolerant a family, think it was 1945 , house got set fire, only 4(iirc) children escaped, 5 were never found, or any remains despite finding other things in the house which would suggest the possibility that if they were there’s there should of been some remains, very interesting story but sadly unlikely to ever be resolved

makingmiracles Thu 11-Jan-18 23:42:30

Sorry got my names mixed up, was the sodder family, whoops, apologies

SoleBizzz Thu 11-Jan-18 23:45:14

Check her Youtube channel out.

I'm from the Highlands of Scotland - we specialise in this sort of thing:

- disappearance of Renee MacRae and her son Andrew

- "Suicide" of Willie McRae (no relation)

- unsolved shooting of a young banker in Nairn

Theories abound on all of these - but no answers.

Drogonssmile Thu 11-Jan-18 23:52:27

Thanks, these are interesting!

Suzy Lamplugh. Always sticks with me that one.

Carl Bridgwater. Local to me so always resonated. I saw the documentary recently that allegedly solved it but will we ever really know?

SimonBridges Thu 11-Jan-18 23:56:00

I find it scary that people can disappear in a built up area and never be found.
There is a case local to me of a 19 year year old lad who went missing over 10 years ago in the middle of town. How can that happen? How can a whole person go missing?

BSintolerant Fri 12-Jan-18 00:03:21

@makingmiracles the Sodder family case is fascinating. Possible Mafia involvement makes sense.

I'd like to know what your theory is about what may not be mentioned here.

Butterymuffin Fri 12-Jan-18 00:09:01

@makingmiracles PM me with your theory too, please?

BulletFox Fri 12-Jan-18 00:13:21

Claudia Lawrence

AwayAndStuffYourself Fri 12-Jan-18 00:16:38

I thought Bible John was now believed to be Peter Tobin.

AwayAndStuffYourself Fri 12-Jan-18 00:17:41

I would love to know your theory too makingmiracles.
