Like what?

You can probably tell whether they wipe it out after each use but that's it, surely?

Eolian Sun 17-Dec-17 14:15:02

The contents of their bookshelves

AnneLovesGilbert Sun 17-Dec-17 14:15:06

I don’t have one. What does that say about me?

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree Sun 17-Dec-17 14:17:29

Face. Particularly stupid people. And I realise how much of a knob that makes me sound. I’ve never voiced this out loud or even said it online before but it’s something I’ve noticed over the years.

You can tell a lot about someone by......

.... The type of threads they make on Mumsnet.

You can tell a lot about someone by....

.... The way they talk about their parents/siblings/exes

steppemum Sun 17-Dec-17 14:19:01

well that's me buggered, my microwave is a law unto itself.

Quite happy about my bookshelves though!

Julutheskunk Sun 17-Dec-17 14:20:36

I don't have one, I'm forever a mystery then grin

BasinHaircut Sun 17-Dec-17 14:20:50

The way they react to things on mumsnet.

Pagwatch Sun 17-Dec-17 14:22:34

I don't have a microwave
I don't have many books because I send them all to the charity shop unless I plan to re-read them and I have a kindle.

You can tell absoloutely everything about a person by just asking them if they like Farage.

Loveache Sun 17-Dec-17 14:22:54

The way they treat waiting staff...

SleepFreeZone Sun 17-Dec-17 14:24:54

Someone once said to me that they could tell a lot about someone by the state of the inside of their car. They would always check the applicants car before they employed them.

My god this made me feel awful as at the time I was living in a tiny room and having to use my car as living and storage space. It made me realise that you could tell fuck all about anyone using this method.

Julutheskunk Sun 17-Dec-17 14:28:15

They would always check the applicants car before they employed them.
Unless I was applying for a role as a taxi driver, I'd be telling them to fuck off. Or that I didn't drive I came via bus/taxi/walking. State of a car unless it's for a taxi type job has zero effect on work life

Pagwatch Sun 17-Dec-17 14:30:32

Absolutely true.

The way they treat waiting staff...

This. And retail staff.

Manners and politeness are the main things I look for in anyone (friend / partner)

sparechange Sun 17-Dec-17 14:33:22

They way they speak to waiting and service staff
Whether they are prepared to pay a little bit extra for high welfare meat

BulletFox Sun 17-Dec-17 14:34:17

If they respect your personal space.

Cheekyandfreaky Sun 17-Dec-17 14:34:39

The way they talk about others.

BulletFox Sun 17-Dec-17 14:35:05

Basin actually my microwave is grubby at present grin

LesDennishair Sun 17-Dec-17 14:35:37

Expand on the face comment, Donny. Sounds interesting.

FurryDogMother Sun 17-Dec-17 14:36:18

The way they talk about other people. If they gossip about others, you can be pretty sure they'll gossip about you. Ditto if they're judgemental, or denigrate people.

LesDennishair Sun 17-Dec-17 14:40:37

Whether they are prepared to pay a little bit extra for high welfare meat

I always ask this question on meeting people. wink

Sleepfree That car comment reminds me of a recruiter we knew who said they wouldn't employ anybody from deprived areas of the city, it was very important, apparently.

Greenshoots1 Sun 17-Dec-17 14:40:39

the inside of their fridge
