I am at work today, and my husband has just text me to say that he and our dc are watching The Polar Express. It’s my favourite Christmas film and I am outraged that they are watching without me!

It got me thinking that I might be missing out on an even better film, so I need recommendations. What’s you’re favourite Christmas film ever?

A Charlie Brown Christmas. Or The Grinch.

The Grinch. No contest.

Groundhog Day. Yes I know it's set in February. But, snow, and learning to live for others? Spirit of Christmas.

You're all wrong.

Die Hard

You can't ask a question like that! It would be cruel to have to choose between them! It's tradition in this family that we watch Home Alone on Christmas Eve without fail, so I'm going to have to pick that I suppose, but the world would not be complete without It's a Wonderful Life. And Love Actually. And Elf.

Muppets Christmas Carol

Muppet Christmas Carol!

ImListening Sun 17-Dec-17 09:43:40

We also like Harry Potter & goblet of fire! The Yule ball - what’s not to love.

allegretto Sun 17-Dec-17 09:43:42

Come on...It has to be It's a Wonderful Life although I haven't seen Polar Express

Sparklingbrook Sun 17-Dec-17 09:44:26

Home Alone is the only one I can tolerate.

Love Actually gives me the rage, and I haven't seen many of the other films mentioned.

Mupflup Sun 17-Dec-17 09:44:53

Muppet Christmas Carol - but we only watch that on Christmas Day. Also the Snowman / Snowdog on the day.

Elf we watch quite early in the run up, I watch Nightmare Before Christmas on my own usually, and then Home Alone usually Christmas Eve. Gremlins we've already watched.

SinglePringle Sun 17-Dec-17 09:45:25

Of all these, I’ve only seen Die Hard!

BifsWif Sun 17-Dec-17 09:45:32

I do love Elf. I have to admit I have never seen Love Actually, I will watch it tonight and return with my verdict.

Sparklingbrook Sun 17-Dec-17 09:46:11

Don't watch it Bifs, it's so awful you will want to put your foot through the TV.

wannabestressfree Sun 17-Dec-17 09:46:16

I love the really dated national lampoon Christmas vacation.....

GissASquizz Sun 17-Dec-17 09:46:21

Polar Express is terrifying. They all look like corpses.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
