So, I’ve just finished watching this movie. Apparently quite a mumsnet favourite. Bit cheesy but I still cried 😀
My favourite Male was obviously the 90 year old film producer/director man.
But I just wanted a poll of the age old question: funny, quirky guy (Jack Black) over sexy, gorgeous guy (Jude Law)
I believe the etiquette these days is to specify “lighthearted” 😉

Jude Law!

I was thinking about this film the other day and how Jack Black in a romance role made me shudder. Just doesn’t do it for me in the least.

Fatrascals Fri 15-Dec-17 21:29:24

No way.
The have to admit that Jude Law’s acting in this did surprise me and he’s blatantly lovely.
But Jack Black is sexier IMHO.
Any day. He’d be fun

Fatrascals Fri 15-Dec-17 21:30:02

* I
Have to admit that

ImListening Fri 15-Dec-17 21:31:19

The producer grin every time! If I had to Jude Law.

DuchessofManchester Fri 15-Dec-17 21:32:32

Definitely Jude Law

Arronsmissus Fri 15-Dec-17 21:33:09

Jude Law! I saw him at his granny’s funeral. Drop dead gorgeous.

Jack Black is too podgy for my liking. Not attractive to me.

Janetjanetjanet Fri 15-Dec-17 21:33:51

Jude Jude Jude.

Especially when he's in the pub. Growl.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Fri 15-Dec-17 21:35:52

Jude, no question.

Loverunandwine Fri 15-Dec-17 21:36:05

Jude!!!! I love love this film, the opening music with kate winslet overlay....’sometimes love is lost..’

MomToWedThorFriday Fri 15-Dec-17 21:36:20

Jude Law alllll night long. grin

Fatrascals Fri 15-Dec-17 21:36:38

Looks like I’d have Jack all to myself then 😉😂

WhoWants2Know Fri 15-Dec-17 21:39:04

Am I the only one that thought it was a terrible, wooden film?

But still, Jack Black.

afrikat Fri 15-Dec-17 21:42:15

Jude Law doesn't do much for me usually but I adore him in this. He's utterly gorgeous and such a sweetheart. Jack Black is v funny though which is always good. But Jude, all day long

Fatrascals Fri 15-Dec-17 21:45:40

Actually whowants I definitely didn’t think it was wooden. I thought it was pure cheese and totally unrealistic but I thought all 4main actors pulled a rabbit out for their parts. It’s a ridiculous plot with no ounce of reality in it and a ton of clichés but the performances made it bearable.

Jack Black would be quite dirty I think

I love this film. Jude for me. I love his voice. And he's so pretty...

ShoesHaveSouls Fri 15-Dec-17 21:49:06

Jude Law.

That film is my guilty pleasure - because I love Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. And the snowy scenes - and the way it is what America thinks UK Christmas is like...and in my head, my Christmas is like that (gorgeous cottage in the snow with Jude Law knocking on the door...) grin

It replaces, for me, most people's guilty pleasure Christmas film: Love Actually. Because I cannot stand Love Actually.

AdmiralSirArchibald Fri 15-Dec-17 21:50:56

I love both films! And I have just finished watching the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special. It's beginning to look a lot like 🎄

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour Fri 15-Dec-17 21:53:14

In this film, DEFINITELY Jude Law. Ooh he's got a twinkle!

Myneighboursnorlax Fri 15-Dec-17 21:56:06

Jack Black. Always.

passmethewineplease Fri 15-Dec-17 21:59:14

Adore this film.

Jude most definitely but wouldn't kick Jack out of bed either.. grin

AnnDerry Fri 15-Dec-17 21:59:57

Rufus Sewell.
His character is vile, but those eyes...

I love that film in spite of myself and now my DD (14) is a convert too.

overmydeadbody Fri 15-Dec-17 22:01:11

Don't see how anyone could find Jack black sexy?!?!?

Jude law all the way.

Fatrascals Fri 15-Dec-17 22:02:01

Yes, shoes it’s blatantly how Americans think about England.
But in a nice way like you mean.

So I see I have a fight on for Jack Black?
I mean, School of Rock ? Yum. And what’s that film where he works in a record shop?
