Barratts shoe shop Saturday girl £1.71 an hour in 1996 (I was 15). Lasted a few months then moved next door to Clark's for £2.56 an hour.

Then at 13 (in school holidays) working in a seaside shop, serving mr whippys!

Sainsburys checkouts here too. Was ace fun and brilliant training in dealing with people. Taught me how to pack a shopping bag too.

Was seen as an adult for the first time. I was 16 and the pay was 4.20 pounds an hour! Triple time on NY day!
