What's your biggest achievement of the day?

As a new mum, today I drank a cup of tea while it was still hot.

But only because we are snowed in at my parents' house so my mum is currently changing her for the sole purpose of me drinking said tea.

Still! I feel like this is a huge achievement for the day. What's yours?

Having done zero Christmas shopping up until 12.30 today I braved the shops & finished in 3.5 hrs & treated myself to late lunch & a beer to celebrate 🍺🎄

I went to Lidl and only bought what was on my list.

Remembered to buy a carton of milk this morning for work so I don't have to buy coffee, can make my own!

Minding my 4 month old, my sisters 6 month old and a hyper dog whilst my sister made lunch, got ready etc. Felt like a juggler!

I drove down a small country lane which was icy and didn't lose control of the car.

I managed to get down the stairs by myself today - not gracefully but a bum shuffle

Broken leg & have been quite dependant on dh as I try to manage on crutches

Finally finished my NQT year. Awkwardly had a baby in the middle of it so it took a bit longer than most!

I was offered a huge slice of chocolate cake today and politely said "no thank you." I don't need extra calories today.

Hollowtree congratulations on your baby, and your hot cup of tea.

I got DS2 and DD6 out the house on 5 minutes early meaning I got to work early and could attend most of the MDT meeting that starts before I am supposed to be there. Getting everyone out the house and not being late is usually the hardest part of most work days.

Draught proofing the stripped floorboards in my kitchen/dining room with strips of insulation foam. Took forever but it’s a strangely satisfying job

I became a professor shock

buttwingsham Wed 13-Dec-17 19:20:20

I painted up the stairs and the landing. Well I touched it up and removed the kids mucky handprints and general yuck up to waist height. It looks great even though I say so myself!
Congratulations on your new baby, it's such an amazing time but bloody hard too!
