in holiday apartment rental, would this be a shitty thing to leave in the bathroom or acceptable?

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv Mon 11-Dec-17 11:20:36

I wouldn’t do it

Sirzy Mon 11-Dec-17 11:21:11

Of course it would be shitty

Phosphorus Mon 11-Dec-17 11:22:51

They will probably just think you are odd, and leave it there.

Tneybare not pest control.

BarbaraofSevillle Mon 11-Dec-17 11:33:15

It's a shitty thing to do to the cockroach. Why not ignore it or take it outside if it bothers you?

If you are somewhere with cockroaches in bathrooms, you are probably in a relatively warm country. It's just an insect. It doesn't mean the place is dirty. I don't see the need to 'do' anything, let alone leave the cockroach imprisoned under a glass.

pingodolcepo Mon 11-Dec-17 19:07:51

I didn't think it was that shitty, anyhow just before I checked out I threw the bath mat on the glass to let it out and ran away. I thought cleaners would be used to far woorse though.

littlemisscomper Mon 11-Dec-17 19:13:04

Shitty thing to do both to cockroach and cleaner. Them 'being 'used to worse' isn't really an excuse.

PinkBuffalo Mon 11-Dec-17 19:50:17

I have been a cleaner. Cleaners are not pest control. What were you expecting the cleaner to do? Removing wildlife is not in the job description.

SkyIsTooHigh Mon 11-Dec-17 20:02:23

I would expect the cleaner to clean round it.

pingodolcepo Mon 11-Dec-17 20:45:19

I'm pretty sure in tropical countries removing insects is part of their job description! It was as I was checking out so they could hardly ignore it for the next guest.

TheLegendOfBeans Mon 11-Dec-17 20:47:06

Very passive agressive

Nicknacky Mon 11-Dec-17 20:49:42

Why didn't you just get rid of it yourself?!

CoteDAzur Mon 11-Dec-17 21:00:09

Careful, OP.

A single cockroach post can get you banned on MN.

True story.

paxillin Mon 11-Dec-17 21:00:35

On handover of a Holiday let? Why would it be OP's issue if the cleaner cleans around it? I'd probably email the letting agency telling them of the roaches so they can deal with it as they see fit.

WhimsicalTart Mon 11-Dec-17 22:15:10

Snakes from Reddit may enjoy it. Hisss

MiltonTheCockroach Mon 11-Dec-17 22:34:19

CoteDAzur Mon 11-Dec-17 22:56:47

Milton grin

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth Mon 11-Dec-17 23:02:15

Really? Concern for the roaches? Kill them. All of them. But we can't. Unfortunately

C8H10N4O2 Mon 11-Dec-17 23:02:56

I think I said I wouldn't want like buttons on MN. Just occasionally I may be wrong. Hope your cousin gets out soon!

MiltonTheCockroach Mon 11-Dec-17 23:04:18

Marvin is now covered in toothpaste sad

I've advised him to sue for the trauma inflicted on him. Gave him a link to this fella (no relation * cough * )

Aridane Mon 11-Dec-17 23:19:56

I don’t understand the in jokes blush - can someone clarify?

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth Mon 11-Dec-17 23:23:14

Me neither, but concerned that my roachphobia will get me banned. Help me woke people, make me love the roaches

MiltonTheCockroach Mon 11-Dec-17 23:29:40

I could, but I'd have to stamp on you afterwards ...

Help me woke people, make me love the roaches

You, me, a bottle of good wine and I'll help you learn to love the roach <raises feelers up and down in a suggestive motion>

noradurst Mon 11-Dec-17 23:53:53

You lost a potential goldmine of money there OP. Stick some rhinestones on it, sell it

It's a thing.
