I'm really struggling with my mood lately and despite trying different things to drag myself out of my shitty funk, I can't do it. Is anyone willing to give me a few songs that I can listen to to put a spark back in my spirit.
I appreciate any pearls of wisdom to go along with it.
Thank you MNers.

Normally 80s electro cheese does it for me; Karma Chameleon, Every breath you take, Jump for my love etc. I was an 80s baby though and have often wondered whether the earliest music you can remember always subconciously remains a little special. That may be a good place to start though, with the earliest songs you can remember...

Stef, you may be into something there! I was born in the early 70s, so I was brought up with that era of music. I'll give it a go, thank you for that.

Lady, what a cracking song! How can anyone feel down with that playing!! Thank you x

Tazmum01 Tue 21-Nov-17 10:41:54

Maras2, some great songs in there.

I've got 'heatwave' running round my head, but I need the whoopi Goldberg version from sister act, Martha and her vandellas aren't doing it for me.
Thank you for your replies. I'm struggling, but I'll get there.

Bullet, but that one. Great, isn't it? Thank you x

Tazmum01 Tue 21-Nov-17 19:03:16

Hollowtree, I went through all my old favourite rock bands. It amazed me how many songs I used to love and still do. Motley crue, whitesnake, quireboys, skid row and of course, because I'm from their home town, def Leppard.
Chucked some motown in there too.
Thanks everyone

Let the river run by Carly Simon (theme to the film Working Girl)

Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel

Wheels [cha cha cha] by James Last
No More Blues by Saskia Bruin
Looking Up by Michel Petrucciani
Interplay by Derek and Ray
Afternoon Of The Rhino by The Mike Post Coalition

I appreciate these are probably rather obscure but you might find them on YouTube.

My absolute favurite feel good song (which makes me want to dance even typing the title!) is:
Footloose - Kenny Loggins
And many others:
Walking on sunshine - Katrina & the waves
You're the one that I want - Mr Travolta & Miss Newton John!
Lollipop - Mika
Blame it on the girls - also by Mika
Dancing in the city - Marshall Hain
Is she really going out with him - Joe Jackson
Young at heart - the bluebells
Skater boy - Avril Lavigne
Wind it up - Gewn Stephani
You're Gorgeous - baby bird
Best song ever - One Direction

A somewhat eclectic mix but totally make me feel good. God I love my Spotify play list ...

Rather Be,
Hold my Hand.

I'm sure I'll think of more later...

Loads of great songs in there, thanks everyone. Made myself a playlist on YouTube and I can play it on the kitchen telly and dance whilst I wash the dishes.
I appreciate you all commenting x

I’m partial to listening to Heart 80’s (or Heeeaaart aaayyyy-teeeeeeeees), usually in the car - proper crank up the volume sing along tunes. My dc love the cheesy announcements - they say it’s like Car Share
