Who does the best mince pies?

I'm on a mission. I love mince pies and have been so disappointed to buy a box of 6 from some supermarket and find the pastry soft, the mince dry and tasteless and the pie containing more air than mincemeat.
So which supermarket, in your opinion, does the best mince pies?
Please help me before I rush out and taste test every brand I can find, resulting in a 3 stone weight gain grin

Which winners this year were marks and Spencer I think.

I loved Sainsbury's mince pies last year.

Aldi's sloe gin mince tarts are the absolute nuts.

Parsons Bakery mince pies are fantastic.....thus is a chain of bakery's south west of UK and wales

I like Sainsbury's puff pastry parcel ones. They don't half make a mess though.

Lidl are usually good, crumbly but not soft.

Without a doubt the best shop mince pies.

The puff pastry ones are the best ! 😄

Sainsbury’s shortcrust bakery ones are the best supermarket mince pies by far I think.

I can't tell you. I told you last year and they sold out the next day. shock

Ohhh yes I love Greggs ones as well , they are massive which is an added bonus.

M&S without a doubt! I have tested them all personally grin

Greggs. I've had two already and we're not even December.

I make the best mince pies. Wouldn’t ever buy them - half the fun is making them!

Sainsbury’s from the bakery. Lots of pastry, but that’s the way I like it.

I love Heston mince pies from Waitrose - although I’m not usually a huge mince pie fan, so their slightly different flavour appeals to me!

Sainsbury’s taste the difference with all butter pastry are absolutely gorgeous if you warm them in the oven for ten minutes.
And warming them stops me eating all 6 at once

M and s ones are pretty meh this year I think.

Dd always says greggs. I like aldis.

But nothing beats homemade even with ready roll pastry. Ds (almost 4) has decided he likes 'Christmas Jam' so much he has scoffed all but 1 of the M and S ones I picked up last week so am going to make my own I think.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck Fri 17-Nov-17 19:00:36

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference.

Waitrose all butter are the best by a country mile - and they're half price at the moment!

My mum. Soz. grin

My husband, with his brandy pimped mincemeat and his orange shortcrust pastry. Oh god they're good

I’ve taste tested Tesco, m&s and ALDI so far this year and for me ALDI are the best, followed by m&s then Tesco.
I usually try and make my way around as many supermarkets mince pies as I can, all for a scientific survey you understand.

Iceland's premum range are the best I have come across (and I've tried most of them so far!). M&S are also delicious. Aldi premium range are usually good too but haven't had any of theirs yet this year.
