Please send me tips on how to poo.
Haven’t pooped for a week
Really bad stomach pains
Today I’ve eaten fibre enriched meals and drank loads of water. I’ve also drank to fybogel drinks.
And still no fucking poop.
I really don’t want to have to go to the doctor, I’m too embarrassed.
What can I do?

PoptartPoptart Tue 14-Nov-17 19:21:57

Don’t be embarrassed to go to the doctor. Constipation is a very common problem

CryptFascist Tue 14-Nov-17 19:23:10

You’ve put a lot in but you need something the other end.
Glycerin suppositories will definitely make you poo.

Ummmmgogo Tue 14-Nov-17 19:24:39

gp will have seen it all before don't worry.

LEMtheoriginal Tue 14-Nov-17 19:24:48

A week is a long time. Have you tried a laxative? Senna? Strong coffee and a warm bath .

It's no fun and after a week I think a gp appointment is appropriate. It can actually turn quite nasty

rotavixsucks Tue 14-Nov-17 19:25:13

Coffee always works for me confused. You could try having a nice warm bath to help you relax. I can never go if I'm tense.

Good luck on your poo quest. brewflowers

A week? Go to the doctor. ASAP.

DaisyDukesShorts Tue 14-Nov-17 19:26:24

Senacot or movicol.

deepestdarkestperu Tue 14-Nov-17 19:26:39

Suppositories always make me go, and strong black coffee!

Ausparent Tue 14-Nov-17 19:27:44

Please Do get to your doctor OP. The longer faeces is stuck in your bowel, the more dried out and hard it becomes. When you finally do go it will be very large, hard and painful and could give you anal fissures which take ages to heal and can be excruciating.

TommyShelbysMrs Tue 14-Nov-17 19:27:54

The thing with my doctors surgery is it takes about 30 minutes for the call to be answered and then the next available appointment is usually 6 weeks away.
(These are not even exaggerated)

What can be bought from a pharmacy that’s good and I will go tomorrow.

Please all cherish your well working bowels tonight as I miss mine :-(

Movicol or lactulose, or Senekot.

DottyDotAgain Tue 14-Nov-17 19:28:15

A whole box of movicol for me was the only thing that worked after I had terrible post-op constipation - the amount that it says for faecal impaction - try that and good luck - it’s horrible.

girlandboy Tue 14-Nov-17 19:28:43

I was like this recently due to having to take lots of codeine!
Nothing worked with what the doctor gave me. I'm talking about senna tablets, lactulose, cosmocol, glycerine suppositories and some other tablets that I had to take at night (can't remember the name).

The only thing that worked was eating a large tin of prunes + juice in one go. There was probably about 25 prunes in the tin. It didn't work immediately, but the next day was spectacular!

Cakesprinkles Tue 14-Nov-17 19:29:17

Movicol, lots of water, satsumas and prune juice. And strong coffee. And a cigarette.

Definitely go to the dr asap.... If you have an impaction or a bowel obstruction it may be impossible to go even with laxatives etc without help from a Dr.

Have you been farting? If you are constipated you should be farting loads, if you arent farting and have bad stomach pains you should go to a&e

Vinoblancorosso Tue 14-Nov-17 19:32:27

Senokot - and more than the recommended dosage. I’ve had to take up to 6-7 in one go to get myself ‘going’ before. Just make sure you have access to a toilet about 12,hours later.

Movicol is also good, but i dont find it works as quickly as senna

MusicToMyEars800 Tue 14-Nov-17 19:32:59

Movicol and lactulose both worked well for me, I suffered really bad constipation after both births of my DD's, It is not pleasant when it finally gets released, I didn't go for a whole week after the first birth shock
Good luck OP.

LapinR0se Tue 14-Nov-17 19:33:42

After my c section I didn’t poo for 10 days. It was horrendous.
In the end I took a stool softener, glycerin suppositories and put Vaseline around my bumhole.
The relief was glorious but honestly I felt I gave birth!

Annaanaconda Tue 14-Nov-17 19:34:23

In the past I've used Dulcolax, available from the pharmacy. They certainly did the trick.

GretchenFranklin Tue 14-Nov-17 19:34:45

A jar of sauerkraut. That'll shift it.

Or a double espresso and a giant spliff.

BumWad Tue 14-Nov-17 19:35:27

Glycerin suppositories

IHaveBrilloHair Tue 14-Nov-17 19:35:29

Espresso, cigarette and and swift walk around the block.

Heymrstinkypants Tue 14-Nov-17 19:35:40

Movicol, laxido or lactulose
And a glycerin suppository
All available to buy over the counter
