Is this a stupid idea?

I have an expensive pair of jeans that are very soft, comfortable and flattering (pieszak danish brand I think. Were £130.)

Anyway drawback of them being so soft is they wear threadbare at the thigh pretty quickly. This is my second pair, it’s happened to both. I’m toying with the idea of reinforcing them from the inside with some sort of patch and wonda web.

Is that a stupid idea? I’m wondering if the glue on the wonda web would show through & ruin them... anyone done something similar?

I've done similar. I used a repair kit from Wilkes it had a sturdier iron on bonding tape sort of thing. It worked ok I still wear them.

I’m assuming they’re thinning when your legs rub together when walking? I would worry that that was adding more thickness would make it worse if you add a patch inside.
