Suggestions for unusual days out?

My friends 30th birthday is coming up and I can't think of anything to get her! She really enjoys doing experience type days out - things like that cave in Wales with the trampoline, SUP taster, climbing a random tall local landmark, llama walking etc.

Has anyone done anything fun lately? We're based in the Midlands but willing to travel!

Gin tasting / making day? I had a brilliant time on the one I went on at Manchester Three Rivers.

Adults loved diggerland.

She's not a gin fan, although could see what other alcohol based activities are available grin and that's reminded me of a sausage making workshop I saw a while back...

Have recent enjoyed an escape room and a creepy history tour of a city.

Try www.lovetuktuks.com they do tuk tuk tours near Harrogate- stop offs for prosecco and views then the pub for lunch and a potter around Bolton abbey. I'd booked it but couldn't go at the last minute and was really looking forward to it.

My Dad was a zookeeper at Dudley Zoo for the day and loved it.
Hot air balloon.
Zorbing.
The zip wire in Snowdonia.
The go wild tree thing towards Staffordshire I think.

Ooh zookeeper sounds good!!

I did a llama trek in Yorkshire a few years ago, it was brilliant and the people (and llamas!) are really nice

(sorry, just reread your OP and you already mentioned llamas blush)

EduCated Tue 26-Sep-17 23:38:29

Yes, she's done the llamas, but bloody loved it, so it was a good suggestion grin

Horse riding, either a nice beginners hack or an adult own a horse day?

If you don't mind coming to London you can scale the outside of the o2, it looks bloody horrific but she might like it!

nancy75 Wed 27-Sep-17 00:04:55

Actually she could scale the o2 & you could wait for her in one of the bars at the bottom - would be much better!

Days we've really enjoyed include hawk flying, fungus foray and gin making.

If she is a beer fan could find a brewery tour? Dbro did one including a meal somewhere in Yorkshire but can't remember where!

We’ve climbed the 02!!

Was fun, not massively scary or difficult tbh

And cheap!
