Need to buy a couple today and not sure what tog to buy for now and the next few months. Is 2.5tog too cool

Lots of factors: how old is baby? What temperature is room? What other clothes do you put them in? Whereabouts do you live? (UK, elsewhere) etc.

I used 2.5 tog for dd for cold nights and 1.5 tog for this kind of weather. Her room would have been 20 degrees so I suppose it depends on room temp

He's 9 weeks old and12pounds so his first size 0-6months. Room temp is not too warm or cool.

2.5 tog is recommended if the room temp is 19 or lower I think. That's quite cool, we have ours around 21-22 and baby goes in a 1 tog + vest + sleepsuit. If in doubt I'd go for a thinner one, you can always pop a blanket on top on cold nights

Will have babygro on and maybe a vest

9 weeks? Aww! Yes, go for a lighter tog if with vest and babygro. The grobags will have a guide on the packaging about room temperature, tog rating and clothing.

We've always just used 1 or 1.5 and if it's particularly cold add more clothes. Our rooms are often 19-20 degrees and that way you can use the same one all year (which I guess matters more when they go up into the big ones).
Neither of my kids like being too warm tho

If you buy a branded grobag grobag they have a room thermometer in the pack that says what they should sleep in for the room temperature.
Totally worth the extra money!!

YY to branded Grobag for the room thermometer and clothing guide.
