Is it normal for a baby to have this many rolls?

Obviously name changed.

DD is beautiful and a healthy weight but all other babies her age don't seem to have as many rolls!

Is it normal?

Yes. It's fine.

She looks very like my little one. I do love a chunky baby. smile

Delicious! I love a good Michelin Man baby.

therootoftheroot Mon 19-Jun-17 23:08:53

how old is she?

FeiYenKansu Mon 19-Jun-17 23:08:59

We used to call that puppy fat! Some children when small are naturally like Botticelli angels, yours is one of them!

By the time she is at school she won't be as chubby. Harper Beckham was similar when a toddler.

Lovely rolls smile

She has the rolls my DC never had. No elastic band wrists, no chubby thighs to squidge sad.

Enjoy her and give her a good ol' squidge from me!

On my! How sweet.
My friend called this 'elastic band arms' grin.
Her child is now slim as a whippet. It's totally normal.
And gorgeous.
Look at those hands, how have you not nibbled them?!grin

@therootoftheroot 11 months.

Haha, I know, she's beautiful ❤️ I just wondered if it was normal or not. She's the only one in swimming class like it!

joannegrady90 Mon 19-Jun-17 23:13:26

Aw she's beautiful 😍

RJnomore1 Mon 19-Jun-17 23:15:52

Aww my dd2 went from being preemie to being like that, she's 12 now and long and lean.

I miss my little chubby baby.

CorbynsBumFlannel Mon 19-Jun-17 23:17:30

Dd had legs like your dd's arms. The rolls go one by one as they grow. Think her last one went when she was 3 :-(

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer Mon 19-Jun-17 23:17:32

Normal and beautiful

A proper baby is that...

(Watching keith lemon and paddy do return of the jedi...apologies)

My DS was like that, he was huge compared to others his age. He's now 8 and I worry he's too thin, there's not an ounce of fat on him and his limbs are like sticks!

HowFunkyisyourChicken Mon 19-Jun-17 23:23:09

DS also has this! Love my chunky roll bear!

VanessaBet Mon 19-Jun-17 23:25:57

Yep, mine were the same too, now not a spare ounce on them!

BroomstickOfLove Mon 19-Jun-17 23:28:48

DD was like that and is now tall and thin.

Lucked Mon 19-Jun-17 23:30:26

The chubbiest baby I ever saw was at my breastfeeding group, exclusively breast fed and had double the rolls of yours. She's at school now and looks normal.

Zubba Mon 19-Jun-17 23:33:48

I get a bit 😱 when I look at photos of my DD as a baby (she was quite a bit fatter than your DD!) she's now a 10yr old stick insect and shoulder height to 5'7 little old me.

Oddsocksforeveryone Mon 19-Jun-17 23:37:19

Dd is same age as yours and is very similar. She has the most amazing thighs. All of mine have been the same, my mum used to say I must make cream instead of milk. Ds1 is stick thin now, Ds2 is lean and muscular. Dd spends a lot of time dragging furniture about the living room, she's so strong. I love a good chunky baby.

TheweewitchRoz Mon 19-Jun-17 23:44:06

Chunky chubby babies are just gorgeous!

Sprogletsmuvva Mon 19-Jun-17 23:54:32

Mine went through a phase of 'sumo chub'. Was at 90th centipede for weight (though 75th for length), and one woman i know with a tendency to histrionics said she was too fat and on a path to obesity. At the age of 8 months angry. None of the HCPs agreed though.
Then DD started walking, and became a picky eater sad. Chub now pretty much gone at 19 months.

StillMedusa Mon 19-Jun-17 23:55:40

My DS1 looked like a baby Buddha! His rolls had rolls! His first word was 'more!' and I worried he would be the fat child at school. He was still pretty chunky at 4... then gradually it disappeared and now as a man of 24, he has to eat a lot to get over 10 stone... he looks like a whippet and would love to be less skinny.

Babies vary hugely ...some are chubby, some aren't.
