My Facebook app on iPad has just shown the following message:

This iPad has just been corrupted with virus ( sic) and battery has been damaged.

Yadda yadda corrupted by (4) virus (sic) not close page down press ok.

Clearly I don't press ok, what do I do? Delete the fb app?

And close down the page presumably...

I had that earlier. It's a trick. Just
Close your app down and reload it.

Yes, just ignore it.

Thanks all. I had an anxious moment when my keyboard went slowly, partially green...but by the time I looked back it had disappeared. I certainly didn't click I'm hoping ... not sure how I can check..

It's not a virus alert, it's a scammy pop up pretending to be one. There are no viruses for iPad.

Ignore it. If it happens again go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data

Monkey, thanks. I worked out it wasn't a virus alert but thought it might be a virus instead and was anxious in case it had infected me. But I shall now sleep easily thanks to your and others' wisdom.
