Our NHS trust has been cyberattacked and we are all shut down and major incidented - anyone else or just us?

Dawndonnaagain Fri 12-May-17 13:40:17

FFS who'd do something like that and why? Parliament I can understand, big business I understand but an institution that is solely there to help people...
Wankers!

Apocalyptichorsewoman Fri 12-May-17 13:49:18

Apparently they have runners over in the main hospital running between departments - particularly with urgent blood results etc.... Outpatients is cancelled too. I've already done my clinic so am ok but - jeepers! confused

TheNiffler Fri 12-May-17 13:51:15

This happened to our trust a few months ago, I was an inpatient at the time, and it caused a lot of problems; blood tests and other results were lost, clinics had to be cancelled sad

BaydreamDeliever Fri 12-May-17 13:57:25

This is awful sad what wankers do this?

Apocalyptichorsewoman Fri 12-May-17 14:33:04

Gosh Niffler - That must have been worrying!

Am kinda finished now, but am ringing round main hospital to see if they need help/runners - if not am off to tescos - yowzah! hmm

What kind of absolute fuck wit does that to a hospital? Fucking wankers. angry

Apocalyptichorsewoman Fri 12-May-17 15:38:41

I think other hospitals have been affected too in SE... shock

Maudlinmaud Fri 12-May-17 15:44:28

Bbc just confirmed it. Sake I'm getting bloods done at 4.30, at the moment it's confined to england.

peripericardium Fri 12-May-17 15:45:48

I imagine the reason they attack hospitals is because they're essential and they hope for a huge payout. I doubt morals come into their thinking, or they're perhaps attackers from another country who know they aren't risking their own friends and family.

It's looking quite widespread according to the news - several Trusts are impacted.

You have to a special kind of bastard to target healthcare....

Belleende Fri 12-May-17 15:51:39

Hertfordshire here. I am waiting results for tests during pregnancy results due this pm. Apparently data is being held to ransom.

LurkingHusband Fri 12-May-17 15:52:10

With my extreme cynic hat on, I wonder who will be the first to make political capital from it ?

(Recalls the Godfathers advice to Michael about how to spot the traitor ...)

HateSummer Fri 12-May-17 15:52:11

I just saw this. What kind of fucked up shit head would put vulnerable people's lives at risk?! angry. They're asking for a ransom too!

Our trust has emailed us only 5 mins ago, but aren't affected so far. I have a night shift tonight and am not looking forward to it if anything happens.

ohfourfoxache Fri 12-May-17 15:54:53

East and North Herts confirmed as being under attack.

Absolute sick fuckers angry

Ps4widow Fri 12-May-17 15:56:48

Fucking hell

sidsgranny Fri 12-May-17 15:57:13

Am I the only one thinking this is part of a bigger plan and they've caused chaos/shut down A&E only to go and carry out a major incident somewhere else? I so hope I'm wrong.

Maudlinmaud Fri 12-May-17 15:57:18

I don't understand the motive, do they usually ask for ransom?

Apocalyptichorsewoman Fri 12-May-17 15:57:50

Line manager phoned -Am not needed for running or owt - going to have a large glass of wine wine

SquatBetty Fri 12-May-17 15:58:39

LurkingHusband - I am thinking the very same thing.....
