What toy did you want as a child and never get?

I'm one of the rare people who actually got a Mr Frosty, but to this day I still wish I'd got my "Magic Nursery Baby". You put her dress in water and it would turn into a box with a different outfit?

What did you yearn for, but never ever get?

LookImAHooman Tue 18-Apr-17 19:49:01

I never got a Mr Frosty. My mum once caved and let me spend a few pence on one at a jumble sale and of course it was fucking broken.

Worse was that I never, ever had a Keyper think I was 16 when I stopped asking for one for Christmas just to make a point.

Deprived childhood.

Matrushka dolls
A Chopper bike
a pony (does that count?)

KindergartenKop Tue 18-Apr-17 19:49:28

I came to write Mr Frosty! Was he shit?

I had a tiny tears but he was a boy. I had gender disappointment.

Dolls' house.
Apparently my room wasn't big enough which was a rotten excuse as I hadn't exactly chosen to have a room half the size of dsis'.

A Mr Frosty!
I wanted one soooo bad.
I have a lovely friend now who did get one and assures me they were a bit shit to make me feel better about my childhood deprevation grin

NoArmaniNoPunani Tue 18-Apr-17 19:50:19

Before I opened this thread my first thought was Mr Frosty.

Bombaybunty Tue 18-Apr-17 19:50:24

I wanted a chopper bike as well. My parents bought me a Stowaway bike which folded in half. Not cool at all.

llhj Tue 18-Apr-17 19:50:42

Common theme. I also wanted a Mr F!

Libitina Tue 18-Apr-17 19:50:55

That dolls head makeup hair thing and a Mr Frosty.

skippy67 Tue 18-Apr-17 19:51:13

Girl's World. It was basically a massive dolls head for you to do different hair and make-up styles on.

OatcakeCravings Tue 18-Apr-17 19:51:21

A Speak and Spell, I was desperate for one, never got one. Looking back no idea why I wanted it so much!

llhj Tue 18-Apr-17 19:51:24

I received a calligraphy set. It was so scratchy and crap.

glitterglitters Tue 18-Apr-17 19:52:07

Ain't gonna lie @LookImAHooman I had some keypers. They were awesome.

Timmy Tears' penis scared me 🙈🙊

ElspethFlashman Tue 18-Apr-17 19:52:44

I desperately wanted a Tiny Tears!

Also a dolls house.

I never really got anything branded until one glorious Christmas I got a Crystal Barbie. Greatest toy of my life.

Elllicam Tue 18-Apr-17 19:52:45

An electronic pig that walked along and wrinkled its nose.. and a mr frosty.

BitofaPoorEffort Tue 18-Apr-17 19:53:07

I wanted the Mr Frosty so much, I used to imagine lying on my deathbed slipiping away, while my anguished parents sobbed 'we should have bought her a Mr. Frosty while we still could!'

Also had great envy of my little friend down the road; she had a toy sweetshop full of little jars of tiny sweets and a working cash register...I'd still quite fancy a go on that

Laska5772 Tue 18-Apr-17 19:53:33

A Stylophone (that ages me!)

glitterglitters Tue 18-Apr-17 19:53:33

@Elllicam the ones that would walk round the shop with a ballon tied around them?

Justmadeperfectflapjacks Tue 18-Apr-17 19:53:45

I was spoiled as my dgm worked in a toy shop!!
Would have given it all up for a sibling though.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners Tue 18-Apr-17 19:53:49

Mr Frosty.

I had a Girls World and my mum ended up using it for her hairdressing night class as I was completely disinterested by hair and make up.

wineusuallyhelps Tue 18-Apr-17 19:53:59

I had a Mr Frosty. It was rubbish and the biggest let-down ever.

I never had Operation but someone gave it to me as an adult to make up for it grin

I also never had the Sindy house with the lift. I'm still not over it...wink

sniffle12 Tue 18-Apr-17 19:54:00

Haha can't believe it - Mr Frosty was my first thought too.

Although sadly there was one thing I did get that I really wanted - a Girl's World for Christmas - that turned out to be broken, and instead of exchanging it my mum just returned it! I've never known why!

Jaimx86 Tue 18-Apr-17 19:54:03

Same - Mr Frosty.
I also really wanted a tutu or princess dressing up outfit and didn't.

bookworm14 Tue 18-Apr-17 19:54:05

The giant playmobil Victorian doll's house. It was so beautiful. My playmobil had a 'house' made from an old box. <deprived>
