grin Nope...

The clues are all there... Well, nearly.

You need to count the feet. And identify one particular feature which is definitive.

Autumnalgold Thu 22-Nov-12 12:54:27

Definitely something with four legs

Sorry to DD (I know grown ups can be very silly!)

But, my guess is verrucas?

an elephant?

Galena Thu 22-Nov-12 13:01:00

Psammead is closest. You've identified the important feature correctly - although its colour is important...

HecatePropylaea Thu 22-Nov-12 13:01:59

toad, then?

HecatePropylaea Thu 22-Nov-12 13:02:31

No, the tongue colour is important... The discussion went a bit like this:

Me: Oh DD, that's a lovely picture of... erm...
DD <Gives withering stare as only a 3 year old can>: Mummy! It's a giraffe. You can tell because it's got a black tongue and only giraffes have black tongues!
Me: Oh of course! <Mutters under breath 'I'm sure giraffes have another, slightly more identifying feature!!'>

DD retains useless information like a sponge, so knows they have black tongues. She may have forgotten its long neck, but it had a black tongue .

HecatePropylaea Thu 22-Nov-12 13:14:34

She knows more than me! I always thought giraffes had blue tongues. Just googled it. grin
