Which Noah's Ark - lovely wooden potential heirloom or plastic Playmobil one?

Have been planning to buy DD (aged 3) a Noah's Ark for ages. I was fully intending to buy a wooden one, but having seen the Playmobil one I'm now very torn.

Personally, I would rather have a wooden one in the house. I like wooden toys. As far as I can tell they tend to be more robust and last longer than their plastic tat equivalents. But I'm not the one who'll be playing with it. Not mostly, anyway.

The Playmobil Ark has loads of accessories and just looks like it would be way more fun for a three year old. It is also currently half price at Toys R Us, so DD could have a few extra stocking presents.

We have no Playmobil toys, so I don't really know much about their quality.

Really could do with some thoughts, especially if you already have a Playmobil Ark.

Plastic one.
We have a wooden one and the paint is chipped. My experience of wooden toys generally is that they look great for a month and don't really last - and we only have one fairly gentle daughter.

Oh, and my DD plays with the Playmobil toys that used to belong to my DH and his brother. Those have lasted well.

Playmobil if you actually want them to play with it. Wooden if you plan to sell it on ebay later.

The Playmobil one can be played with in the bath.

My children play more with their plastic toys (Playmobil, Animal Hospital, Sylvanian Families) than they do with the wooden toys.

my dc have playmobil from my childhood too, it goes on for ever.

We don't have a Noah's ark but my dc play with the Playmobil pirate ship in the bath.

We have a couple of wooden arks (called ds1 Noah!) and both have been decorated with felt-tip pen. It would probably wipe off the painted one (if I tried), but the plain wooden one (ELC) is unlikely to come up clean.

Playmobil is excellent stuff.

Playmobile. WE have a wooden one (thanks MIL ) which was very nice until the door got broken off. Wooden stuff keeps ending up in the bath too ( at dh who never seems to learn) and then the paint flakes and comes off.

OK. This is all pretty unanimous.

Thanks, all.

DD was still playing with her PlayMobil one quite recently, she's 8 and got it when she was 3 or 4. I'm going to try and talk her into getting rid of it soon, and will probably stick it on here FFP so do keep an eye out!
