Heard horrendous stories from last year of pople unable to get hold Wii in the run up to Christmas so I got ours this week ! Can't wait till Christmas Day , not only to see the delight on the kids faces but to have a go myself !

I ordered mine at the start of September - said 12 weeks for delivery (31st October) - so figured that even if there was a delay I'd still get it in time

I'm the same - my DS's were told they wouldn't be getting one from me, if they wanted one they would have to ask exH (and he's skint so no chance there lol) - then I decided I wanted one so changed my mind and ordered it.

I asked DH for a nintendo wii for my birthday (end of november). He went out the next day and bought me one (in september!)

I have also managed to get a wii fit. I strongly recommend them, its fantastic and I have never exercised so much in my life.

Argos are always getting them in stock for home delivery. I think they have the ones with a game for £99 in stock, the £70 ones come and go.

I think that might be the Christmas shopping done for the kids ! they wont wnat to play with anything else , in fact tough the budget for pressies has been blown !

I've recently had a shot of a wii. I thought it was very disappointing

It depends entirely on what gamne you are playing and your taste

me, I like Wii Sports and the carnival game but can't be arsed with the rabid rabbits type stuff- am looking forwards to family ski at Christmas

You have to do your research

And just for anybody who ahsn't come across it- we swear by lovefilms wii game rental service, far better ioo (in our opinion lol) than buying loads of games you might not like

Can't find a wii fit at RRP anywhere atm. Refuse to pay £25 higher than RRP just to have one by Christmas.

Annoyed because I knew I should have started the hunt at the beginning of the month, but we weren't going to get one - mum's just decided that it's a nice family joint present for us and she doesn't have to work out what to get us individually

ONly played wii sports.

I had assumed it would actually improve your skills in that particular sport. Silly, high expectations, I know. I think all it will do is give you repetitive strain injury as the trick is in the flick of the wrist.

And the hours just gallop by as people repeatedly jerk their bodies pretending to play sport.

I had a look at that - but didn't know anything about family ski - is it any good?

Oh - and those with wii fits. Do you need an anti-slip cover on them, or is it another marketing scam?

Rubberduck. Argos often have the Wii fit in stock - it's just a case of checking their website frequently. Sometimes it's home delivery only and sometimes it's reserve and pick up. I got one delivered this week for DDs birthday next week. They often have them bundled with a game, but I bought the one without the game.

Can't answer the question about the anti slip cover as I haven't unpacked it yet. Can't imagine you need one, but if DD wants one she can spend some of her birthday money on one.

chopchop: I've had a wii fit stock checker thing open all this week, but nothing seems to be coming in. I will keep checking the individual sites as well though.

Good point about the slip cover Kids are bound to get some cash from great grandma if they desperately need one...

When I ordered mine last week I do seem to remember seeing a message somewhere on the page that said due to high demand they would only have these available to order mon-fri (didn't pay too much attention at the time as I was so excited to find one). So could be well worth looking on Monday.

The link to the Game website from herbietea looks good too. I think the wintersports game is supposed to be a good one.

I got my wii fit from Amazon France (I'm in the UK). The order pages are the same as the UK version and it came within a week and was no more expensive than buying one in here.
