I might just do that.

It might kill my DH, though (death through pissing himself laughing)

remove all light bulbs and replace with red (for festive glow). Put duvets over sofas for 'snowy' effect. Spray scent around to evoke the spices of Christmas. Oh no, hang on a minute, that evokes the Reeperbahn.

Sprinkle a mixture of cotton wool balls and glitter over your lawn and turn your garden into a winter wonderland.

Glue white furm trim on to all your red clothes for that 'cheery' festive look

I dress my dds in fancy dress clothes as a choir of angels and make them stand in the corner of the sitting room in a tasteful pose.

They can keep still for nearly an hour now

Tether some grazing reindeer in your front garden - it will look so festive and the manure will be good for the roses.

To avoid spending a fortune on decorating everything in your house, dip your mascara wand into silver glitter before applying, and everywhere you look will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland!

I find when you have a young DC swapping their cot for a manger, complete with hay is quite a festive touch.

Empty your cupboards of everyday tasteful crockery and replace with cheery festive decorated plates and bowls

Turn off the central heating, open all windows and watch as icicles magically appear
