DS is 2 - what to buy for Christmas...his birthday is also December

DS is going to be 2 on 01/12/08, and we have decided to buy him a wooden garage and the accompanying vehicles for his birthday....that will be about £65-70 in total, and as Christmas is so close, we don't want to spend mega bucks then too....maybe £50 or so.

So, does anyone have any present ideas for either something else big-ish or a couple of stocking fillers?

Many thanks!!

Duplo would get my vote.

That and cars is more or less all my ds (3 in November) plays with and we'll be adding more this birthday.

My DD is getting a pushchair for her dolls and a peppa pig playset.

If he is getting a garage I would go for a character he likes for the other present.

Wooden train set will go perfectly with his birthday present and doesn't have to cost the earth. We have supermarket version. It has lasted nearly nine years and is still played with.
