Occassional strops from ds1 but that would happen wherever it was because I only let him play for a limited amount of time anyway. and it means dp and i get to pay when dc have gone to bed!

We only have one television and the children have to ask before watching television or going on the Wii. Generally we will do one or the other together; actually, more accurately, dp will watch TV or play Wii with the girls whilst I'm on the internet or reading.

The Wii is brilliant though - I juts do better on it when there's nobody else in the room to distract me; so I have to wait until the girls are in bed and dp is in the bath!

yes, but the boys (6&5) generally play it together. The rows it causes isn't anything to do with TV watching, just when its time to come off.

I'd recommend getting a kitchen timer which they can see. I struggle to get them to give it up after the time I've negotiated with them. They'd be on it for 6 hour stretches if I let them.

We have another TV in the back room, so DD can watch it in there, but generally she watches the boys playing.

Sonic and Mario at the Olympics is a good game - it really tires them out as they run on the spot (I've get to point out they only need to shake their hands )

Yes and not really.
Only got it in August as family birthday present (all 4 of us have summer birthdays).
DH and I don't play; I did spend one evening alone trying to master Mario Kart coz I had lost to DS1 too often that day.
Fights are mainly about how much time DSs can have on it (they have to ask before turning on Wii or TV) and whether one might have somehow got more time on it.

oh wise Wii people...whilst you are here, may I hi-jack the thread to ask....is it easy to use...because we tried it out at a local currys and it was a nightmare to navigate and all that....and I know I am a techno-idiot....but, the cursor went all over the place and stuff...

was it just set up wrong, am I just hopeless or is it wii thing?

mutt will confirm i'm a true technophobe as she has helped me on another thread tonight to master my dd's new phone! It is incredibly easy to use for the sports stuff and quiz type stuff. Some of the other games are a bit beyond me, but that's no surprise really
