Christmas

DD’s Christmas is a bit dull so far, help!!

Not only am I so disorganised this year I don’t seems to have lost my usual excitement and or any inspiration for my DC’s Christmas particularly my youngest DD10.

It’s such a funny age and while there are things she has asked for and is getting (mostly for pony) they are all very practical and dare I say it a bit dull.

At 10 I’d still like her to have a bit of sparkle, fun, surprises so I’m looking for some more ideas.

We don’t need any tech/snuggly blankets/bed room lights etc, she likes a bath bomb and will have one in her stocking but other than that not into smellies.

To give you an idea of the kind of things I’m look at I’d seen a wicker basket which has Midnight feast printed on the front and was going to fill it with some of her favourite things but unfortunately it’s out of stock!! Another thing was an old fashioned sweet shop set with glass jars etc I have also looked at a few of the bigger Maileg sets as she still collects them but then realised I’d need to sell a liver to fund it

So basically it’s magical part that Santa would bring that I’m trying to fill.

Does anyone have any ideas? I’d love to hear what everyone else’s 10 year old DD’s are getting!

I’m stuck too. Such a tricky age. Last year she lived led lights for her room. This year, not a lot.

DD is 10 and likes fimo clay, slime making supplies, sticker maker, pin badges, top model books, bean bag, gym clothes, vans/converse, cosy pyjamas, onesie etc

depends how 'sophisticated' she is. Cos she could track Santa's progress around the world on Christmas eve on the NORAD website. Depends on what she is into.

My DDs are 8 and 10 and are getting iPads as their main presents. Other stuff will be books, diamond painting sets, a Kawaii surprise box for the 10 year old (Etsy) art pens (they want Posca but ££££) make up (for the 8 year old - she is obsessed!) and Kraci Poppin sets.

Agree with the candy floss machine, my dd loved hers at that age!
Make your own midnight fest basket - printout the words 'midnight feast ' - you could cut out the individual letters on dark blue card and add glitter if you wanted. Just use any hamper basket from B&M etc. Then fill with the treats.
At that age she might be interested in treat things like pot noodles etc or pancake/waffle mix and maple syrup!

What about one of those cuddle cushions so it's comfy to sit up in bed reading/using tech? Attached.
Zebra highlighters from Amazon
Silly things like bouncing putty, Christmas scratch art etc, £1 shop for Christmas rubber ducks. Have a look at pound toy for stocking fillers

Milk frother for making hot chocolate.

Fun game like throw throw burrito or exploding kittens

Body/hair glitter

Those fidget popper things

DD’s Christmas is a bit dull so far, help!!

Isn't having a pony the pinnacle? Not sure much would be exciting compared to receiving that!

@jocktamsonsbairn some great ideas thank you! 😊

@UsernameInTheTown she is pony daft and can mostly be found in a pair of welly boot with hay in her hair, but I like to keep the Santa magic going just a little bit longer.

She is currently making said pony and advent calendar out of empty toilet rolls and planning his stocking, he very adored and she knows how lucky she is. 😊

I've struggled a bit for my DD9 this year, especially as she just had her birthday. I've got my DCs bikes this year which sorts out the main present but for other bits I've got her a couple of books, a 'Miss Sparkle gift set' from Next and this Nutella gift set with a plate, nutella knife and a jar because she loves nutella!
My mum has got her a polaroid style camera which I think she'll like too.

@CaptainChannel my older DD loved her Polaroid camera at that age and it got a good reaction on Christmas morning.

My DD8 has just had the Instax camera for her birthday, from my parents. Massive hit! The film is expensive though

My GD wants heelys, resin painting and diamond kits. Would she want a pony diamond painting kit?

Ok so I have gone with my original idea of a midnight feast hamper. Found a seller on Etsy who personalises wicker hampers and it will look near enough identical to the one I see. Non plastic, useful and very old school magical and know she will like it, perfect for sleepovers!!!

Now I need to fill it with some north pole treats, that would one put in a midnight hamper from Santa clause, so far I have thought sugar mice...

Oh that's great that you found one! What about hot chocolate sachets, popcorn, Pringles, Christmas themed sweets, can of fizzy juice, candy canes, American sweets, things she's not usually alllowed?

If she is getting lots of bits for her pony, then for her that is really exciting! So it may seem dull to you if you aren't horsey! (Apologies if you are..just that if you are 10 your pony is the most exciting thing in your life of you are lucky enough to have one)Smile

Marshmallow or hot chocolate bombs for the sleepover kit. Popcorn, maybe a DVD.
My DD liked those sheet face masks.

Thanks to whoever linked to the Fimo clay. My DC is slightly older and I think would really like this. 🙂
