Oooh also panicking! Well done @Notlongnow1 I was going to thank everyone for the football advice but will wait and see if we're in the right place first Grin

Thanks for the new thread @Notlongnow1

@Dolphintrainer - I love the idea of a cooling towel. Never seen these before. The site you suggested were a little out of my price range, so I had a search on Amazon. These ones Amazon Cooling Towels look great value. x4 towels for £7.99. Bargain!

Just reposting this as it was at the end of the last thread

@dolphintrainer or anyone else who might have used cooling towels, there are a lot of them on eBay for 2 or 3 pounds. I can think of a lot of female friends who would love this if you know what I mean (we are all of an age) Do you reckon the cheap ones are the same sort of thing? How do they work?

Placemarking - had a lovely time at lunch reading through previous posts and getting some great inspiration. Let the bargains keep on coming and the shopping commenceSmile

@anotherone4 there's actually a promotion in those towels too, 2 for 1. So eight towels for £7.99 I think 🤔

I can’t get that towel offer to work BUT in the impulsive mood that I’m in, I’ve bought a similar cheap one on eBay and Amazon have the dock and bay one for £7 inc bag - I’m going to see which one is best before I buy.
Dock & Bay QuickCool Cooling Towel - For Athletes, Sports, Workouts, Fitness - Dual Layered Fabric Technology, Instant Relief, Cools to 15°C - Includes Bag - 25" x 12"/63 x 29cm www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B081CKNF64/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_T8415ZVKS9G5KA7Z60ZG?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

I am quite pleased with my willpower so far. Not shoping with amazon helps though!
Does anyone know if Yorkshire Soap Company ever do deals or codes? Equally if they are rubbish feel free to say, I am not a soap person.

I have placed an order for playmobil with Luna Skye and the chap who runs it has been helpful and communicative so fingers crossed it go OK. (And that my mother in law can find room to hide it.)

Saw this on fb but not sure how accurate it will be.

Does anyone know if sainvurys have completely stopped their 25% clothes offers. I recall the did quite frequently but can’t recall seeing any lately. They had some nice long sleeved pjs in today.

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight The cooling towel works really well. You wet it then wring it out. It stays damp for a very long time and it has a modern fibre technology that means it stays cool rather than gets warm like other towels would. They are very light weight, not thick like a towel. Usually they also have technology that means they will resist mould and smells if left in a kit bag or corner of a teen boys room!
Personally we have only tried the Dock and Bay one so I can only vouch for that one. We loved it so much I bought 2 more - they do regular 20% off. I would also buy one from a sports retailer but I’m not sure about a very cheap eBay one, as I suspect it wouldn’t work anywhere near effectively - it’s the technology woven into the fibres that is the key, it’s not just a small basic towel. Hope this helps.
Those going for the cheap ones - let us know how you rate them when you get them.

@HoHoLow - I had one set that was definitely better quality than another. But can't find the seller. I would do some searching and look for a seller with good reviews. Re the safety, there are small parts, and in all honesty I have no idea what they are painted with so probably not great if you have a little one who puts a lot in their mouths.

Possibly not for Christmas, but Nobody’s Child have just opened their outlet, with really bargainous stuff. They do the best tea dresses and are ethically made.

Phew thanks for the new thread!

Anyone got any genius idea for thirteen year old DNiece? She’s still very much between teen and a kid and probably wouldn’t go for the things I get other teen girls I buy for such as jewellery. She’s quite interested in Science and animals.
