(6 Posts)For me it was a toss between Garmin and the Fitbit kids one.
The Garmin has a game that unlocks depending on steps. The Fitbit seemed more grown up and needs charged every 2 or 3 days.
Thank you. Quite like the Garmin but think I’ll go for something cheaper like Can’tSleep suggested then he can always be “upgraded”not proper one at a later stage when he’s using more hopefully.
Off to search amazon for basic kids ones now - any other recommendations would be great thanks.
We chose a vivofitjr2 because the battery lasts a year without charge. Fitbits need constant charging.
There are lots of cheap ones on Amazon. We got ds one for @ £18 last year which to be honest seems just as good as the on sale Fitbit we got for dd. I think it was called Letcom or something similar. I bought it after reading lots of positive comments from MNers and was sorry I’d spent a lot more on the Fitbit!
The Garmin Vivojr they are about £50 and have a game that can be played on a tablet.
My 7yr has requested something to count his steps and mentioned Fitbit. Didn’t even know he knew what that was but apparently someone in school class has one. I’m not that keen to get him anything pricy as he doesn’t really need an activity watch and I feel is a little young for anyway. He doesn’t go out alone but I’m sure he’d find looking at his step count fun and I’m always keen to encourage him to move more. Any ideas on anything cheap but fun?
