Sainburys October Toy Sale - Can items be returned?

I bought my DS a couple of toys for Christmas in the October toy sale, and he's received duplicates of these toys from relatives for Christmas too! Will they honour me returning them? Store credit would be better than nothing! Confused I suspect the relatives bought them from there at the same time too so no good rocking the boat and asking them for a more up to date receipt.

Perhaps try a local facebook selling group or regift for kids birthdays.

How would sainsbury's know when they were purchased if you exchange with no receipt?

Does the receipt not state the returns policy? It's probably too late.

Our Sainsbury’s is really good about returns with no receipt, they give you the price currently scans at on a refund card - so will come down to whether the items will still scan I suppose?? Obviously could scam at higher or lower price though!

They might have tracked it on your nectar card too. Alternatively pop in in your random present drawer for the next birthday party he is invited to.

@Hophop26 That's good to know. Thank you! I'll take the chance and go down there then.

I don't actually have the receipt for my purchases but I know on their website it says if we've got a bank statement they can track down the purchase, and I would have used my nectar card too.

Lesson learned for next year. Keep receipts and also double check about October purchases.

Well a small update, I took the toys back, they waved my nectar card at the till and I got a refund card for the full amount! Very happy with that, thank you Sainsburys! I've been able to buy some clothes for DS instead.

How lovely! I think Sainsbury really try hard with customer service.
