What are your meal plans looking like leading up to Xmas?

So far I don't have to cook Xmas eve
Xmas day is the usual
Don't have to cook Boxing Day
27th will be nibbles and left overs (best day!)
28th turkey curry

I don't know what to cook in the days leading up, the 22nd (Sunday) would normally be a roast but I won't because it's too close to the Xmas meal

I'm doing 'the big shop' on the 20th and would like to have a solid meal plan so I don't go too mad.

So looking for inspiration..

Macaroni seems to be very popular, I might add that for Monday... will obviously put bacon with it

I've added in some simple meals (as in not too rich as well as not too much work) to the weeks plan: e.g shepherds pie on the Monday; hot roast pork and stuffing sandwiches with coleslaw on the Sunday instead of the usual full roast.

Cottage pie here on Xmas eve . Then Salmon on Crutches (Croute) for Xmas Day with mash and no veg. Yes NO VEG, who gives a shit.

Love it and clean the plate. There is too much gluttony around this time. And a need for Gaviscon. lol.

I have no hope of doing a meal plan but will be basic light meals to compensate for all the cream, butter, cheese and chocolate.

But I know one thing...there WILL be chicken supreme vol au vents!

23rd will be Swiss Raclette. Which reminds me a special trip needed to waitrose for the raclette cheese.
24th we do M&S buffet style.
25th. Obvious.
26th probably a veggie chilli with all the toppings, cheese, nachoes etc.
27th Chicken stew with fancy breads.

Unsure after that. I will make the chilli and stew on the 23rd, and freeze. This means no real cooking will need to be done over those few days. Hooray!

No idea.

I can't meal plan, my family is too busy and plans are unpredictable.
Christmas dinner on the 25th, and in laws on the 28th- so a ham for that.
Otherwise who knows.
Supermarkets are open on boxing day, so I don't buy too much ahead.

27th to my parents for Christmas lunch & buffet in the evening
28th to my Grandma’s for second Christmas lunch

Monday 23rd - out for family Christmas lunch

24th - we usually have cheese board tea with sausage rolls and other stuff, but I'm trying to persuade people that we should make a couple of curries instead and have a curry feast

25th - Christmas dinner with nut roast (bought from Waitrose and already in the freezer)

26th - probably something cheesy - baked camembert, little garlic roasted potatoes, picky bits

its2019ffs · 15/12/2019 11:32

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie a curry feast sounds amazing, your could do loads of side dishes like Bombay potato's, onion bhajis.

Can I come?
