Just that really, we are a bit skint and it’s something that would never have been on my radar and would have been so happy and shocked to wake up to on Christmas morning and not only have I ruined the surprise for myself but am going to have to tell him that I have seen it as have opened the packaging...

Genuinely wondering if I can blame it on the dog!! blush

You're gutted with the present, or that you've ruined the surprise?

BillieEilish Mon 09-Dec-19 12:39:11

hmm very confused.

3littlemincemeatpies Mon 09-Dec-19 12:40:34

Sorry to clarify, I’m gutted I have ruined the surprise, not gutted at what he’s bought me! confused

I’d say she loves the present, gutted that she’s spoilt the surprise

P1nkHeartLovesCake Mon 09-Dec-19 12:41:37

Why did you open it??

savethecat Mon 09-Dec-19 12:41:54

Cany you not just wrap it up again?

SleepingStandingUp Mon 09-Dec-19 12:42:09

Why did you open it?

Rip it open or just peel a corner?

OrangeZog Mon 09-Dec-19 12:43:15

Can too reorder it to be delivered again and return the one you have bought?

RightOnTheEdge Mon 09-Dec-19 12:44:29

Aw OP that's a shame.
Is there really no way you can wrap it back up or change the packaging without him knowing?

At least he got you something thoughtful and a surprise. I thought it was going to be one of those threads where he'd got you a toaster or a set of tea towels or something.

Butterflycookie Mon 09-Dec-19 12:44:55

What is it?

AnneLovesGilbert Mon 09-Dec-19 12:46:20

Why did you open it? (Cancel the cheque)

If it didn’t have your name on it you shouldn’t have been poking around...

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend Mon 09-Dec-19 12:47:13

Happened to me in reverse, bought dh lego train as a surprise and he opened it. I just wrapped it up for Christmas regardless, was a bit gutted but he still got the present and enjoys it. Me and dh share Amazon account so I know all the things he has got me as I got notifications!

Sparklybaublefest Mon 09-Dec-19 12:47:27

WhentheRabbitsWentWild Mon 09-Dec-19 13:03:21

Was it addressed to your husband ?

3littlemincemeatpies Mon 09-Dec-19 13:03:34

I opened it because I have been ordering a lot of stuff on Amazon and the account is in his name so that’s what on all the packaging. He’s normally so last minute and also hasn’t told me he is expecting anything with a wink so didn’t even think...

I’m going to have a look but in one of these courier bags so not sure how seamless of will be!! confused

OhWellThatsJustGreat Mon 09-Dec-19 13:06:14

If the repackage isn't seamless, can you make it look like you started opening it, realised you haven't ordered it and give it to him when he comes home and say you started opening it but realised it wasn't something you'd ordered before you'd fully opened it???

MarianaMoatedGrange Mon 09-Dec-19 13:08:03

Are you sure it's for you?

User478 Mon 09-Dec-19 13:08:25

Maybe it's not for you

TuttiCutie Mon 09-Dec-19 13:09:54

Let's hope it is actually for you grin

TitsInAbsentia Mon 09-Dec-19 13:16:07

Wrap it back up and start rehearsing your surprised face...I don't see what the problem is?

3littlemincemeatpies Mon 09-Dec-19 13:16:30

It definitely is as something I’d pointed out in passing a few weeks ago.

Is it a diamond necklace or a Joni Mitchell CD? grin

3littlemincemeatpies Mon 09-Dec-19 13:19:52

@TitsInAbsentia It’s not wrapped, it just arrived in the post in a couriers bag, I have now ripped the bag open, I can’t just wrap it back up and blame the Elves!! grin
