Christmas

What are you getting for your 18 year old sons?

My son is 18 in December, so for his birthday and Christmas we are buying him a car. It would be nice though for him to have some presents to Unwrap on Christmas Day, my teenager daughter has just asked for cash this year, but I’ve bought her some make up, skin care bits, and a hairdryer set to unwrap on the day, as she adores these things.

I’m stumped what to get for DS? He’s into his tech and computers and fashion labels. Does anyone have any ideas? I’m on a budget of about £100 to buy his presents. I’m going to wait till Black Friday anyway to see if anything of interest is reduced.

Bit boring maybe but things to go in the car? A windscreen protector, a windscreen scraper, some de-icer, windscreen wash, nice driving gloves, an air freshener, that sort of thing? My dad once got me a foldaway hazard triangle in case it was ever needed, and a foldaway shovel. Never needed either, but they sat in my boot for years.

Is he still studying?
I've got stocking fillers:
Usual chicks etc.
Super hot bottle of chilli sauce.
Socks
Undies
Index cards for revision.
Pens
Highlighter pens with mini post-it's attaches again, for revision.
Books relating to his subject at Uni (hopefully)
Notebook with "Future Chemical Engineer" on front.
Armani underwear T shirts
Cup printed with an "in joke"
Aftershave
Plus:
We will be giving him a contribution towards a new laptop. (But not a large amount)

PS can I kindly suggest you don't get him driving gloves? I suggested these to my DS and he looked at me like I was insane. Wink

I paid for DS's car insurance and tax last year (DH bought him a car as his inheritance) and bought him a football shirt, pants and socks, and whiskey. DH bought him an ipad (he was spoilt last
year more than he had ever been because he was caring for DH who was dying).

This year he's 19. He has asked for cherry bourbon and underwear. I will probably get him an xbox game and Superdry voucher as well to buy some clothes for our holiday in January.

@AndNoneForGretchenWieners good Lord that is so tough on you all. Thinking of you Flowers

Ds is getting a refurbished iPhone, jeans, top, shower speaker, coffee, sweets. He doesn't know about those, he's just asked 'Santa' for money so will probably give him a few quid too. Just to clarify, he writes to santa for the sake of his younger brother Grin

Most of the stuff mine is getting is guitar related, along with some smellies and cash towards a new guitar.
