What's everyone getting their teen girls?

Looking for ideas for a 12 and a 15 year old.
Both like makeup, but own no 'cool' brands (and I wouldn't know what these were!).
Again with clothes. They're not very fussy,. Will happily wear Asda/matalan etc but I'd like to treat them so something more special.
Any recommendations for a teen friendly subscription box?
Any gadgets ( a sproket has been mentioned). Dd2 needs a new phone so might go down that route.
They both enjoy reading so will be getting a good selection of new boots.
We usually do a family board game. I've been thinking about Catalan or Ticket to ride, but not sure where to start.
They both enjoy crafts and arty stuff. So I guess I can bulk it all out with some new paints and bits. I'm just stuck. Neither need anything and not have they asked for anything, despite being prompted numerous times.
Thank you :)

My DD is 12 and is looking for the littlemix make up set in Boots at the moment.
The Harry Potter special edition bath set in boots.
She wants hollister hoody, if they wanted something trendy.
She also loves bath bombs, novelty slippers ( primark) and fluffy socks.

Tarte has a great deal on today for £56 where you build your own kit. You would need to find out their foundation shade but if you use the Findation website you can work it out (or keep that for yourself!)

Other cool makeup brands are Jeffree Star, Too Faced, MAC, Revolution.

I don’t have my own teenager, but buy for teenagers in the family. It’s possible they’ve lied to my face but I’ve bought the following in the last few years which seems to have gone down well:

Fairy lights (including a set that had pegs to hold pictures on - quite effective for the bedroom)
Fluffy socks/furry hot water bottle/ big fluffy blanket/ onesie (did a big pack)
Hollister or Superdry clothing items
Large photo frames (a crafty teen) , plus a load of hobby craft bits and bobs (eg scrabble letters) so they can make photo collages
All sorts of body mists
Bath bombs/ face masks/ chocolate body mud stuff
Benefit make up (specifically asked for, got her two items it’s bloody pricey- for me anyway, I use Rimmle!)

Do they need anything like a Bluetooth speaker for there room? Headphones? An Alexa?

So much easier buying for young children!

13 year old DD has asked for the new James Charles x Morphe mini eyeshadow pallet, air pods, a mini blender for making smoothies and vouchers so she can go shopping in the sales after Christmas.

Previous poster mentioned fairy lights, the colour changing LED light strips that can be controlled via app are very popular with DD and her friends.

I'm 23 -- hope it's okay for me to give some ideas!

For a subscription service, you should look into Glossybox - I believe they also have a discount code at the moment. I've never been interested in subscription boxes but if I was going to try one, this would be it - it's mainly makeup and skincare. I wouldn't be 100% sure if they are completely teen-friendly but they're just filled with beauty bits so it might be worth looking into.

And for makeup, if you're not sure on brands you could try Revolution from Superdrug - it's cheap as chips but really good quality, especially their eyeshadows. I have a couple eyeshadow palettes and they were only a few quid! Eyeshadows and highlighters go down well as you can't really go wrong with them.

If you're looking for slightly higher end makeup, check out Beauty Bay. It has loads of great brands that you perhaps don't see on the high street.

Or if your girls are into skincare, take a look at Mario Badescu sprays. Face masks are also a good shout. I love sheet masks (Garnier moisture bomb ones are great!), or Glamglow face masks for something more expensive.

Lush bath bombs, too.

Hope this helps a little!

I'm getting Dd 16 an iPhone XR with AirPods. Her existing contract just finished and I know she'll get a lot of use out of it.

Some brilliant ideas. The strip lights are something that has been mentioned. So I'll look further into that. Good call on the Revolution makeup. Older Dd got a massive set last year and it's fabulous. There's a couple of new pallets out so I'll add those to my basket.
I like the idea of good skin care. Both just use Simple at the moment so maybe something a bit nicer will go down well. They have very similar tastes which is good but I feel like I'm buying double or sharing presents lol.
SIL uses Birch box. I'll have a look into that and Glossybox. Can you customise and personalise them?
They have a Google mini so hoping the lights could work with that (think the Phillips ones do?).
Bluetooth headphones are a fab call. Both play keyboard so that would ensure some peace! 🤣
Is Hollister 'cool'?! Dd liked Superdry last year but got told it was 'lame' 🙄. I know use the 60quid rucksack I got her lol.
Phone wise, no way is Dd 12 having the latest iPhone lol nor airpods she'd lose them in a day lol . We've all got andriod so guessing she will be the same.
I'll have a look at the little mix makeup. Sounds right up her street.
Brill ideas. Thank you :)

Ohh Hype bags. Dd2 was keen on those before term started. That's a good offer too. Thank you. They have a Google mini (we all do across the house). Thank you.

I'm getting my DN 16 a junior driving experience, and she and her 13yo sister some bedding (they are just about to move and won't be sharing any more)

Dd (age14) informs me that THE make up to have is jeffree star ( beauty bay is the official stockist for the UK)
Urban outfitters is good, hollister is ‘lame’!
Something all her friends have/want is a record player & old fashioned records

GwenCooper81 · 06/11/2019 21:49

I'd never have know thya about Hollister. Kids are so bloody fickle! Urban Outfitters cord bags are lush. I'd quite like a pink one.
Dd has asked for new bedding and 'millionsv of cushions. Coupled with fairy lights/strip lights and she will be set for the winter months!
Dd2 has mentioned a BabyG watch. I remember those from wayyy back when.. Still around by the looks of things.
Getting there! Thanks all. Any advice on the board games I've mentioned?. We have approx 2000 versions of Monopoly so I'm keen to break away from that.

Off to look at Jeffree star. :). I think Grandparents have got a driving experience. I love stuff like that. Always nice to have things to look forward to.
My older step daughter is very into record players and vinyl. Looks an expensive game. Neither of my younger ones have ever really bothered with more than a Spotify subscription sadly. I fancied a Audible subscription but they vetoed it in favour of 'proper' books (of which we have loads!). Kids!

Lurking for inspiration.
The bag to have round here is the Fjallraven Kanken backpack. DD has a nice Eastpack one as she is bored of the sea of Hype and Vans ones at school.
She's getting some boxing gloves and the new Pokémon game.

The other secondary in our area seems to have loads of the Kanken bags. I love them but kids at our school seem more for the sporty brands.
Boxing gloves and pokemon sounds good. Youngest Dd has just started boxing. She does gymnasts so is always after extra kit for that.
Finally feel like I'm getting a list together. I love to give surprises as well as some stuff they have asked for.

Eldest is 12 and in year 8.

She's not girly.

She has mostly just asked for a fursuit to cosplay in. I couldn't do that but I did get her a good tail, pair of animal-like gloves and an animal hat with ears and stuff.

She expressed an interest in some more grown up/ less cheap Lego so we've got her some (couldn't find a 'big' set which would suit her so have got lots of less expensive but interactive sets which she is interested in), a Billie Eilish t shirt because we missed out on the concert tickets for next summer, errrrr lots of socks, various stationary items because she loves pads and pens, three sets of jogging bottoms which are similar to the ones she almost refuses to take off/ put in the wash.

Some other items.

I usually prefer to buy the kids tickets to stuff we can do together, just me and the respective child, in the new year.

I don't know what make up is popular but I'd ask. Or just talk about what particular items are wanted or needed, and perhaps negotiate an amount, financially, and so a shopping trip for it (on the understanding it gets wrapped up)

Think we are getting ours an Amazon dot (and will need a WiFi extender as well) maybe her first pair of straighteners as she is currently using my 18 yr old pair. A fleece hooded blanket because she covets her sister’s. possibly some winter camping accessories/necessities for Scouts.
