Would this really be worth the money? Am I mad?

My daughter (2.5) is obsessed with 'True and the Magic Kingdom' on Netflix. We have the books but there aren't any toys for it. A seller on a website will handmake soft toys of True and Barnaby (the cat) for £60. Would I be mad to consider buying it?

No, I wouldn't do this myself because there's a good chance it will get lost at some point and you won't be able to quickly replace it.
As others have said, they move on to new interests in such a short space of time at that age.

I spent a small fortune on abney and teal toys from eBay as my son loves it and you can no longer buy them in shops. He has never played with them! 🙄 I wouldn't waste the money.

I wouldn't they really do move on fairly quickly. In the interim, if you find a really good quality picture that you can download and save then order a picture personalised teddy t-shirt from ebay.
It does not cost much and you then have a 'toy', at fairly low cost-hope that helps.

It’s all just stuff...we all just have too much crap. I don’t say that in a “bah ! Humbug!” way but it’s probably destined for landfill. If you can afford 60 quid could you spend that on an experience for her instead? Just because she loves something doesn’t mean she has to have toys relating to it. Christmas can be made special in so many ways for kids.

I remember getting a Charlie Bear for my little one about October time and putting it away from Christmas - by the time the day rolled around he was into something else (Ben10 if I recall) and Charlie was ignored.

That being said - it’s up to you and you know your family best.

I'd hold fire if I were you. I did something similar at this time of year for my 3 yr old. By the time Xmas came she was into something else and it was a complete waste of money. I was so excited too

£60 seems alot for 2 teddies for a 2 year old but I know how much they love things at that age. around the same age my dd loved sonic and wanted a pink one for Christmas so I got one crocheted for her for around £15 by someone locally. and her grandad got a friend to make her a special agent oso bear as you couldn't buy merchandise. She still loves them now at nearly 11 and they are extra special as they were made for her.

is it possible for you to try and find a local seller who could make you one a bit cheaper, try small village markets especially ones which the older generation make things for, usually beautiful items but little amount of money as they do it as a hobby. if you take a picture of what you want they might help :)

To be honest I probably wouldn't. My daughter is the same age and cuddly toys dont really get played with. For £60 you could get a really great imaginative, stimulating toy that will keep her entertained for hours.
