Anyone else got the twitch yet?

So I'm all done presents wise. I've spent a fortune even by my own standards - between the two kids they have consoles, £70 controllers, an iPhone, all the other bits and pieces so it's more than enough

And what do I find myself doing? Ordering several Crazy Aaron putty sets, a Switch game, a £60 cat print and a kindle fire HmmHmm

Anyone else?

Yes! I've got everything out on the bed today and decided the pile looks really small. I've just finished wrapping my 11 year olds presents, most I've ever spent on her probably (Switch) but the pile is ridiculously small. I've decided I'm going to wrap the fluffy onesie I was going to give her for Christmas Eve, and now I'm browsing Amazon for pile bulkers. Any ideas anyone?

Oh yes! I know all about stocking fillers from amazon! What's the budget though?

Just explain to your kids that their gifts are more expensive this year so they have less. DD has a huge pile because she only ever asks for books

That's not the point of my post though! The point of it is 'the twitch'

The older they get the smaller the pile and bigger the bill.

I loved helping play with toys at Christmas, now I buy myself a Sylvania set to cheer me up amongst the toiletries.

OP I'm in the same boat! This year has been the first year I got my act together and have everything bought and wrapped by 1st December (last year DH and I were wrapping until 4am 🤯) ..I got all the presents out the other night to see what it looks like..then went straight on Amazon to get more!

Last year 'the twitch' made me buy a couple of My Little Ponies for my dd. That didn't end well. There's a My Little Pony TV show that is....well worse than Peppa, worse than Bing even. I am getting the twitch but will be ignoring it this year!

I'm still thinking about one more present for ds25, he knows what he is getting, apart from the back shaver, don't ask, but I think he needs a surprise. Writing this I'm tempted to book him in for some back waxing.

Major twitch here, just ordered an alarm clock you can write on for DS Hmm

Trouble is, when I twitch for one of the DC - finding that perfect present that I didn't think of - I have to even it out for the others.....

In have twitched. Bought dd1 a rainbow blanket (to make her pile look bigger), she's getting a games console so have spent way over budget already, keep buying clothes for her and dd2 too. Picked up a couple stocking fillers last week too which they don't need.

@BatPie not sure in budget really, haven't finished shopping for the adults in the family! So cheap but not stocking filler tat, as she's good for stocking fillers. I'm thinking along the lines of a bedroom lamp, new lunch box, rucksack and slippers... maybe figured like funko Pops 🤔

I have been very organised by my standards this year and while I seem to be doing ok on the kids front I can't stop buying shite for the house. Just got a lovely duvet set for my bed reduced from €100 to €50. I have 3 xmas eve yankee candles, loads of extra Christmas lights, and way too many sweets and chocolates. Luckily I have one more thing to get dd which is proving difficult to that has stopped me twitching as I am spending so much time on line and in store looking for something suitable for her.

@slappinthebass

Well I have bought ..

A gummy bear light! So cool!

A yu yu hot water bottle (these are expensive I'll warn you!)

Crazy Aaron putty. It's really really popular and it doesn't stick like slime does thank god

Crazy Aaron make your own putty kit

An ice lava lamp

An 'awesome since 2006' t shirt

That was last weeks orders Hmm

@ExcitedForChristmas18 I'm quite organised this year too and I start buying in September so I don't feel the hit so much in December. Problem is, I buy and wrap ASAP so prying eyes can't stumble across anything... just means I have 30 odd wrapped gifts and although I know who they're for, I don't know what they are 😂

Yes! I've been so good this year. Just buying well thought out gifts no tat just for the sake of it. This week I've spent £47.03 on nifflers and bought a sodoku book for dd2 so needed to even it out and get something for dd1 as well. Can't believe there is 2 more weeks. I'll have doubled their piles at this rate!!

BatPie · 11/12/2018 15:06

Just googled Nifflers. Thankfully I can pass them by. Phew

Haha! Nightmare situation!
Well being so organised hasn't worked in my favour, it just feels like I haven't bought anything. Keep forgetting!
Steve the amazon prime delivery driver, hates me so much at the moment 🤷‍♀️

I was smuggly reading this thread, then saw Bogie's post, and now think I might buy DS3 a niffler as he loves Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. I did see a huge one in Tesco last week...

Oh help me please! This weekend I declared I was done. I went to the range last night to satisfy the twitch and came away with handcream which is the absolute definition of desperation. I can’t find stocking things anywhere. I have an 8 y/o boy, a 68 y/o granny and a 96 y/o great granny.
Where should I go for keyringd and broaches? And note paper. And things that light up?

BarbedBloom · 11/12/2018 15:41

I keep twitching for my DH. I think it is because I got his stuff ages ago and keep seeing new things. I am okay with things for everyone else really. I do still need a few more things for my brother’s children though
