I am strangely stuck this year so far.

All my and DH's siblings, and their DH/DW/DP/SOthers will all get a scarf. Cos I ain't trying to think about all 13 of them, get something they'll each love, but not have any respect for, get crud back from (some/most - strikethrough as you feel suits) of them, - so I am doing mindfulness on my commuting trains and knitting...

DPs and DMIL - not a clue

DH - not a clue (although possibly an Apple Watch if I don't get it for his birthday)

DD - not a clue. Starting secondary, loves sailing and some computer games, but not into clothes or anything yet. I am assuming though that there will still be a stocking.

Extended family - not a clue. Maybe HM hampers of seasonal treats - or some ideas may come to me.

DNieces/DNephews - 10 across both sides of the family plus 2 DCousins still children (age range 13.5 years down to 3 months) - I'll probably raid a toystore closer to the day.

We do things slightly differently in our house, the same as I was brought up - never realised how odd it was until I was a 'grown up'. So the stocking is about 20-25 bits and pieces, ranging from £1 to £30, totals about £100-£200 per child, from FC, but then they only ever get one 'main' gift from us £30-£150 ish, a shared big gift £50-£250ish and one gift from their sibling, £20-£30ish. Obviously if the main gift is more expensive then the shared could be less expensive, but then there are sometimes anomalies in how much is spent on them... I don't like buying things for the sake of it though which makes things tricky!

Obviously this is a 'list-in-progress' things change and evolve, because it is July....and I am not THAT nuts ok I am, but whatever ;)

Shared Gift: Nintendo Switch, or Kinnect for the Xbox One

Dd1 (will be 8): Stocking
Moon Ball
Selection Pack
Smiggle Bits x 3
Various Hair Accessories from Claires
World Map in the tub
Fairy Lights for Bedroom
LOL Bedcover
LOL dolls x 3
LOL little sisters x 3
Chow Crown
Jacqueline Wilson Books (If not too old for her, she's a bit delicate!)
3 or 4 other books
Clothes/Outfits
Shoes
Gym Leotard
Cereal
Singing Game for Xbox

Main Gift this year hasn't been asked for yet! She still wants a Gym Bar for the garden, but I don't know if I want to take up all the space! We already have a beam... Might get a couple of the ikea mats to practice tumbling on. Thinking a CD Player from dd2 might be fun for her bedroom too

Dd2 (4.5) Stocking-
Moon Ball
Selection Pack
Fuzzy Felt Jungle Book
Julia Donaldson Books (Singing mermaid etc.)
LOL Duvet cover
LOL x 3
LOL little sister x 3
Board Game
Lego
Barbies/furniture/outfits/whatever new barbie film is out
Accessories from Claires etc
footballs/inflatable balls (she is obsessed with balls!?)
Football goal
Gym Leotard
Swimming sinkers
Cereal
Clothes/Outfits
Shoes

Main present is going to be a dressing up chest full of outfits/costume jewellery/crowns/bags etc. and probably something overpriced and branded from dd1! It'll be an lol big pet or something I imagine

TheGirlWhoLived how big are your stockings? I like your way of doing gifts but I have already picked DD up some games in a charity shop so they won’t fit in a stocking.

LookMoreCloselier · 24/07/2018 10:04

DS10
Pokémon sets and storage tin
FIFA 19 against my better judgement
Football boots
World scratch map

DS3
Dinosaur fingerling
Playmobil safari set
Peppa figures

Don't know what else, the little one says he's asking for a giant chocolate santa 😱. I find him harder to buy for than his brother, especially as there are already so many bloody toys here as it is, there's stuff from last Christmas not even played with yet. I don't want to buy stuff just for the sake of if this year.

TheGirlWhoLived · 24/07/2018 13:11

Ah yes, the stocking is actually a giant christmas pudding shaped sack Grin it is personalised with dd's name(s) and then each has her own coloured paper (usually one green and one red!) inside, so the bigger items can be on the floor and not be confusing Something like this
