What do you eat Christmas Day?

I know this thread has been done (probably a million times) but I can't find it and I bloody love reading through everyone's day (12 weeks post baby so trying to lose the baby weight so I can indulge next week Xmas Grin)

We usually have a small cooked breakfast with coffee/tea and Buck's Fizz, (a breakfast pudding of stocking chocolate, obviously) a full Christmas dinner with allll the trimmings around 2pm and a buffet/cheese board in the evenings with drinks. Obviously throughout the day we eat mince pies and god knows what else we can shove in there!!

What do you all eat?!

DD and I will have either French toast or pastries for breakfast, followed by Stollen for me and DH and chocolate on bread for DD. DH is still undecided if he wants to join us with the sweet stuff or goes for eggs benedict.

Lunch is wild boar this year with all the usual and a still undecided dessert, last year we did Panna Cotta, that was a hit.

Dinner is a grazing cold cut selection.

In the afternoon we have Stollen again, Lebkuchen, DD has chocolate biscuit and a cake of some description.

Plus lots of chocolate and marzipan throughout the day.

I've pretty much finalised my weekly menu for Christmas week.
The big day will go something like this.

Mug of tea and Christmas tree crumpets first thing as DH is on an early shift (registered manager of a home for 16-24 year olds with very severe SN). Not all can go home for Christmas. Open comedy present.

He'll leave, I'll start prepping stuff.

Around 11am, DD and I will have a bacon sandwich.

The nibbles (so nuts, pringles etc) get put out about 1pm as DMIL is coming over and she'll be ready for a sherry or two (we'd drank a third of the bottle between us by 3pm last year).

There'll be a tub of chocolates out too.

DH finishes at 3pm, should be home by 4pm.

We'll then open some prosseco and have our starter as we open our presents, I'm doing prawn coctail canapes. So prawn cocktail on top of blinis and in little baby gem lettuce leaves.

Main meal at 5.30pm.
Roast goose
Roast potatoes
Honey roasted parsnips
Sprouts (lots, just tossed in butter)
Carrots
Bread sauce
Apple sauce
Apple and cranberry stuffing
Pigs in blankets
Possibly some slow cooked red cabbage.

That's it.

We might have a mince pie and cream later in the evening with a Bailey's coffee about 9pm.

Jitter...the more the merrier.
I love doing the food on Christmas Day, my MIL is a truly wonderful lady and she's even more fun at Christmas after two large sherries. She's a great help too, she is my 'Scullery Maid' on Christmas Day, meaning she doesn't cook but literally clears up behind me which is a real help.
It's the first time I've ever done Goose so am prepared for a oven covered in fat by the end of the day.

We usually have smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels with Buck's Fizz for breakfast. Usually followed by chocolate. Actually everything is followed but chocolate on Christmas Day!!
Then about 1.30/2pm we have the full turkey roast with all the trimmings. Granny brings over a gammon so we'll have two meats. We always have a starter neither soup or pâté on toast.
We have Christmas pud with some sort of nice cream - brandy or the Baileys one I've spotted. We also usually have a second pudding for about half of us that don't like Christmas pudding. This year it's Aldi toffee and pecan roulade.
Then hours later in the evening after saying we'll never eat again, we pick at the leftovers, maybe some Pringles and a bit of pork pie.
I just can't wait!

@SummerRoberts baileys cream! 🤤 I'm not one for Christmas pudding (or Christmas cake) but I'd happily have baileys with ANYTHING!

Christmas for adults is definitely about the food isn't it Grin (oh and the kids opening presents of course but mainly food)

@catography that could come across like I'm calling you a heavy drinker, I just mean my family don't drink AT ALL. Let alone with breakfast! 😂

We usually have a normal breakfast, so toast/ crumpets/toasted muffins/porridge.

Roast chicken for dinner as we all prefer it to turkey. Roasties, stuffing, pigs in blankets, 3 or 4 veg. Mince pies or christmas pud for dessert. We eat quite early, usually around 2/3pm.

But everyone's favourite is Christmas tea! Nice cheeseboard, any leftover chicken and pigs in blankets, baguette, chutney, olives, roasted red peppers...just a nice little selection so we can have as much or little as we want.

Leftovers! We celebrate on Christmas Eve so that's when we cook the big meal (big ham, potato casserole, swede casserole, carrot and rice casserole, smoked and salted salmons, flamed salmon, pickled herring, Christmas bread, beetroot salad) and then we just eat leftovers for the next few days. Will probably have rice porridge for breakfast Christmas Day just like Christmas Eve and if mum has sent mince pies or Christmas pud we'll have that on Christmas Day as well.

DH and I will probably just have fruit first thing.
DM will come over at about 11; we’ll have bacon sandwiches with Buck’s Fizz. No doubt some chocolate will feature too.
DPIL, DBIL, DSILx2 will arrive at around 2. We’ll have more drinks and I’ll put out pretzels, nuts, chocolates.
Christmas lunch will be turkey, pigs in blankets both meaty and veggie, roasties both duck fat and veg shortening, mushroom rotolo for the veggies, stuffing, sprout gratin, lots of plain green veg, glazed carrots and parsnips, and Yorkshire puddings especially for youngest SIL :) I really fancy doing a cauliflower cheese too.
DMIL is bringing Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, mince pies and chocolate cornflake cakes, all of which she will homemake. I’ll make a Yule Log and a fruity pavlova - regular not star.
DM can’t cook worth a bean so she’ll bring booze Grin
If people are peckish later there will be leftover cold meat/veggie things, cheese, crackers, salad stuff, pickles, pork pie and some nice bread and butter.
Drinks available will be wine of all shades; fizz; homemade rhubarb vodka; homemade bramble gin; anything else people can find in the cupboard; loads of soft drinks too.
Can’t wait!

Tea/coffee while we impatiently wait on the kids getting up (it’s the only day of the year then seem to sleep in)
Breakfast is toasted soda bread with bacon and cheese on top with orange juice at around 10/11.
We’ll have our starter of vegetable soup and/or prawn cocktails at 1.30
Then out main Xmas meal at around 3.30. We’ll have turkey, ham, stuffing, pigs in blankets, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, peas and gravy.
Kids will have ice cream and we’ll have Eton mess or banoffee pie

We go visiting DPs family members (there’s a lot of them) at 5.30 ish and then it’s just eat what you want and when. First house is usual chocolates and biscuits. Second house is pavlova (it’s the best it) third house is snacks of chocolates, Pringles, turkey sandwiches if you can stomach them.

We get the kids home into bed and collapse on the sofa until we can get the energy up to go to bed 🤣
Boxing Day is buffet style with my family.
