Best bargains for gift donations?

Having nearly completed my (probably totally excessive) Christmas shopping, I want to get some gifts for a collection happening locally (sure similar happens all over) for children whose families are struggling to make ends meet. I have a Fingerling to donate as my son seems to think he's too grown up for them, sheesh, but what else would be good? I am thinking of one or two things in the £10-£20 region which would seem a bit more than that/seem exciting to a child. Any haven't scoured the bargain thread, I admit, I am trying this lazy way for recommendations first.....

I bought some boxes of Lego for ours when Sainsbury's were doing 25% off recently. I also bought some clothes for the older children/teens, TK Maxx were great for labels that would otherwise have been too expensive.

Thats a very kind thing to do OP Xmas Smile. Agree, please don't buy anything that looks or is cheap.

As someone on the receiving end of charity gifts as a child, it's not nice to receive something well meaning that also makes you feel crap.

Please buy something that you would be happy for your child to receive. Lego is a great suggestion, maybe a teddy from M&S for a younger one Smile.

Good suggestions, thank you. Lego is, of course, a brilliant toy, but you don't get a lot for your money. So whilst I am totally on board with the not-buying-cheap-tat, I also want to buy things that appear a little more than they are. Maybe that's too good to be true. I have a Lego friends book and lego set that my daughter has never opened and will not miss that I will pop in.

A bit less than your budget but my girls get very excited about busy books - £6 each in supermarkets/whsmiths/tkmaxx. It's a book with a playmat and 12 little figures. They do paw patrol, my little pony, superheros, disney princesses which are all very current and popular :)

Argos have got lots of offers on tin of match attack cards £4.99, aqua beads beginner studio £9.99, shopkins dolls £7.99. Few games reduced too.

Adult colouring book and pack of nice colouring pencils - the works have lots of nice ones and 20% off today.

Tesco had some reduced toys - - a lovely art travel kit reduced from £20 to £6.

It's lovely what you are doing, I haven't managed to do it this year as ive been so busy I haven't even finished my shopping for family or got decorations up yet!
