Toot Toot Drivers / Sylvania Families

DD will be 2 in February. How old will they be until they stop playing with either of these? Am I too early with either?

I would say too young for Sylvanian families. My just two year old puts them in his mouth (they are dd’s who’s 7) and they’re tiny.

Definitely far too young for Sylvanian families - Toot Toot drivers probably have play value until 5 years.
Have you thought about ELC Happyland Dd played with that from 2 - 6 years and later combined playing with it and Sylvanians/Playmobil.

My 19 month old loves Sylvanian Families- we've just put the smallest bits aside until much older.

I would second happyland - my dd who is 9 still likes the houses although no longer uses the happyland people. Now houses busy book figures, shopkins or moshi monsters!

Or buy a wooden dolls house/furniture and some of the sylvannian figures.

Toot toot wasn't around when dd's were younger but the few bits we have at work are cars and track so a pretty different type of toy to sylvannian/happyland so your dd would probably like and use both.

I would say getting towards the top end for toot toot but too young for sylvanians; however as another poster says if you just give them the animals that might be fine.
I found the toot toot tracks etc really annoying. They were always falling apart whenever knocked.
What about a wooden brio-esque railway?

I’d say Sylvianian families might be a bit wasted on her at the moment, especially if you have to take away all the tiny bits. My dd has had a few bits for ages with not much interest, now at the age of 8 she has suddenly asked for a ton of it for Christmas. It’s more the collecting aspect I think.

I concur with happyland, both DC loved that and got years of play. Toot toot also good but maybe til about 4?

Duplo is also great and even though DS (nearly 5) is getting into proper Lego, he still loves to get out the big tub of duplo now and then and make huge creations.

Thank you so much. We have a wooden train set and dolls house (albeit hardly any people as second hand - must buy more )

I’ll look at happy land but glad the toot toot drivers might last a while. It was the princess castle I was thinking about

We bought DS his first Toot Toot for his 2nd birthday. He's now 5 and still enjoys playing with them (although I have packed most of it away now).
How about items from the Playmobil 1,2,3 range - specifically for 18 months plus.
DS still loves Duplo. He's played with it from 18 months.
