Best crackers

Has anyone gotten any good crackers. I've had a look about and am not impressed. They all seem to be one of 3 types:

  1. Traditional - shitty plastic useless gifts
  2. Fancy - silver useless gifts
  3. Family - with a cheap game usually on paper

I'm not impressed with any.
I want a family one which just is a bit more interesting.

Crackers are the highlight of DD9's xmas btw!

I have bought some for this year from Amazon that have Lego type toys to construct (they also had mecanno type). Might not be great for adults but DD may like them. Obviously can't say how good they are as we haven't pulled them yet!

Wilkos do Blox crackers (their own version of Lego)

@lemesmer that sounds a bit more like it!

I do have a kit to fill my own but I am too busy this year to even start.

I do buy DD a giant cracker from wilkos too (crackers are VERY important!)

They may be rubbish! If you have a search on Amazon for construction toy crackers you will find them. We live in France and there are very few crackers available, and they are are pitiful. DS also likes a good cracker!

My kids are all little and really love wind up toys. I found a set of 6 with different wind up toys to race. They are going to love it. I’m going to regret it after about 7 minutes of being asked repeatedly to wind them up 😂
I do think it’s really hard to find decent Christmas crackers though

Hey, thanks so much, LeMesmer. Just bought a pack on Amazon. FWIW I read that Hotel Chocolat had choccy ones. But I love those imitation lego sets, fantastic. Thanks

Also the musical ones are great - we had ones with tiny handbells last year, and they do chime bars as well. Lots on Amazon. Can recommend handbells!

Ooh, love this thread. Just bought the build and play ones - not the cheapest but will be a lovely treat on Christmas Day. I'm going to hide them though so noone knows what's in them

😱 I am worried now on Christmas day a crap Christmas crackers thread will appear with everyone blaming me for ruining their Christmas. If you have bought the "recommended" crackers please remember if they are crap my Christmas will also be ruined, and I didn't intent to ruin anyone else's 😂

Crackers really epitomise Christmas don't they?

All the glitz and anticipation over in a second, leaving a trail of mess and mild disappointment.
