Festive Days Out

What festive days out have you got planned? Would love some recommendations of fun, christmassy places to visit that two boys aged 10 and 12 would like.

Was thinking of maybe Legoland or Chessington as one idea - has anyone been to these at Christmas?

We're based in Buckinghamshire but happy to travel an hour or two, so Bath, Winchester, Cheltenham, Milton Keynes and London all possibilities for us.

Thank you!

National trust all the way at Christmas!! Lit up woods, crafts, eight million Christmas trees... NT properties always make me feel Christmassy!

Great idea! We have NT cards too, which I'd forgotten about. Thank you!

Winter Wonderland might be worth a look but it does get hellishly busy so if you can manage a weekday rather than a weekend (and its nicer at night)

Loads in London- the lights, the Duck Tours are great fun,

We went to Kew years ago (lighted walk it was meh but it might have changed)

Went to Winchester Christmas Market last weekend. I enjoyed it, as did the two adults I was with. Plenty of youngsters there, but not sure I saw much to entertain 10 and 12 year olds! They did have ice skating though!
Ice skating available at a lot of other places too!
Pantomime?

Instead of Legoland, I'd recommend Magical Christmas at Drayton Manor
Snowdome at Tamworth
Warwick Castle is amazing at Christmas
There's lots of festive things going on at the Roald Dahl Museum
A Winter Less Ordinary, Birmingham (combine this with a visit to the light festival at Birmingham Botanic Garden)
Children's Christmas Trail and Electric Menagerie at Waddesdon Manor (National Trust)
Stratford upon Avon put on some lovely Christmas events

Thank you, that's a fantastic list. I shall start investigating further!
