Am hoping that someone can please advise me? Need a reliable but not crazy expensive laptop for DD1 aged 10 who loves to research projects for school, but she will also use it for other WP, watching TV online, storing music & photos and music theory revision.
Ideally need something that can support Flash player, has a DVD drive and is compatible with with Microsoft Office.

Am ashamed to say that I am pretty ignorant about IT stuff but trying to learn very quickly! Are there any reliable sellers you could recommend, please?
Thanks very much.

What's your budget? I'd have a look on dell outlet , the stock changes and sells out quickly but my boys have been happy with theirs from there.

If it is budget, i'd go for one with at least an i3 processor and some have a dedicated graphics card too which would be my pick.
