Does Santa come to your street?

Was minding my own business sitting on the sofa when I heard loud Christmas music. Weird, it's normally a very quiet little street. Suddenly it struck me... SANTA WAS OUTSIDE. Flashbacks and memories to Santa on the back of a flatbed truck coming down my childhood street giving out sweeties (And collecting for charity).

After yelling SANTA at DP (Yes I am a massive child) And running to put the blinds up and DP is just looking at me like Hmm

So I explained and made him come and look at Santa... and he had never seen it before in his life. I thought this was a common thing?! I remember it every year everywhere i lived until I moved into the city centre and this is the first December since I've lived somewhere residential...

So, Does Santa blare his music whilst trubdling down your street on a truck? Grin

Our Santa has his actual sleigh pulled by a truck! Our local around Table does it, usually on a Sunday and it’s around teatime when it gets to us and it’s ACE!

He came to our old street - it was either the rotary club or the lions - can't remember which.

Never had it growing up and don't have it now - we're in a city now though rather than a small town so maybe that's why

My Dh goes round the town with Rotary, with a sleigh and Santa. Sad, so few people come out now he says. They start next week for 4 nights.

I think that I remember this happening once or twice throughout my childhood.

Yes, I remember Santa driving round the streets in a motorised sleigh when I was a kid. I think it was the Round Table or the Lions that did it. He would give out sweets and wave to you and his elves would have buckets to collect donations. It was very exciting!!!

Not here, too rural, but the firemen at the station in the nearest big village started one up a couple of years ago and now they get loads of people lining up to see him pass through. They collect for a local charity each year.

I have very fond memories of hearing the sleigh bells and the tinny Christmas music coming through when I was young in the eighties. I think it had largely stopped by about 1990. Sad.

Shock no, I’ve never heard of this. I would run out to see him if it did happen, though!

He is coming tomorrow!!!
I never had anything like this growing up - closest I got was a brilliant rugby club party where santa stomped across the field in rugby boots with his sack full of toys 😀
But I live somewhere different now and have been given the info this week. He’s due to make an appearance tomorrow evening - my little one will probs be in bed but I’m beside myself with glee and will be out there waving hello. Husband thinks I am mental

Yes - and usually at bathtime. Last year we had to grab dd out of the bath, wrap her in a big towel and carry her to the -⛟- sleigh

Santa must be extremely busy coming down all of these streets. He comes here too. It’s Thursday and I’m way too excited already. Never had it growing up in a city.

Yes, ours is coming tomorrow! I think I'm going to have to keep the DCs up until about 830 though as our road is one of the last. It only happened one year when I was growing up, and I was tiny, maybe 3 or 4, so I can't remember it all that well.

Yes! He's been here this evening. DD was out there in her penguin onesie and clutching some pound coins. Apparently she asked for a dinosaur.

She's nearly 12!

The rotary club do it round here in a camper van. When I was a kid you would queue up for ages in your pyjamas to go in his camper. Last year he said mine were the only kids he’d seen all evening.
