DS (nearly 5) would like some magnetic construction type things that he’s played with at nursery/school. Small amount of research shows me there are lots of brands eg magformers, magtastix, magna blocks etc.

Any recommendations for a good one? Or are they all very similar?
Thanks

We have a set of Playmags that both my 3 and 7 year old love playing with. They are one of our most played with toys so we are adding the train/ vehicle base set to them this christmas and buying from Amazon.

We have these at nursery, they can be made into cars to. Though have a look around your sure to find bigger set for cheaper. They are very fun.

My daughter received some Magformers for her 4th birthday a few weeks ago and they have been played with continuously since then by her and any other children in the house (especially her 9 year old brother!)

We bought DS1 two sets of Magformers for his 4th birthday last year. He then received another big set during the year, and has asked for even more for Christmas. Both him and his 2 year old brother love them, and they are definitely one of our most played with toys. Visiting children alway seem to love them too.

We have both magnatiles without the holes and magformers (with the holes). Magnatiles are played with loads by ds from age 3, now 6. Magformers have been totally ignored by both him and dd, now 4. Annoyingly every time I pick my just turned 4 year old up from nursery she is playing with magformers there and has been for ages they say.
