Do you wrap the stocking gifts?

Just that really? DD 5 has a huge stocking and there’s tons of little bits of crap plastic so I don’t know whether to wrap or not?

I think last year, I wrapped a lot and left chocolates/smellies unwrapped.

She’s not an early riser so I’m not too worried about prolonging the opening!

What do you do?

Yes, I always wrap, it’s a pain in the ass, but so much more fun for them opening them.

I wrap. It's an effort but it's 10 times more fun to get them wrapped. Imagine your child getting all their big presents not wrapped - just a pile that they could see what they were in an instant. I don't think it's that different with the stocking presents.

I don't, I didn't when they were tiny or it would have taken them all day to open, and we've just carried on in the same way since. We don't have 'big' presents in ours though, just smaller and more useful things

Stocking presents get wrapped here, always have. But it's usually 8 to 10 things and no tat.

Yes, in the saved wrapping paper from last year. But small felt stockings only so it's not that much.

Actually I do leave the satsuma and chocolate coins unwrapped.

DC have quite big stockings too so we wrap the decent presents in paper and then the more traditional stocking type presents get wrapped in tissue paper. Quicker to wrap and quicker to open too.

Yes I wrap about 80% of the stocking. Although I saw a tip from here that you buy little sweetie bags form eBay, the paper ones, and just put them in bags instead. Much easier to wrap small items!

I wrap them in tissue paper with minimal sellotape, it doesn't take long and then they're really easy to open.

All the presents are wrapped in tissue paper. But sweets as in gold coins, tube of smarties and satsuma are not

We wrap everything it's more fun. Even useful gifts like socks are interesting if you unwrap them.

Wrap wrap wrap! The excitement of seeing the full sack/stocking when you first wake up and prodding it and the wonder of what it may contain. I can remember those feelings now!

Same as PP: tissue paper with very little tape. Certainly no effort to make it exceptionally neat.

The chocolate bits won't get wrapped though.

No we don't wrap them. The stocking itself is wrapping enough. Even tipped out on the bed is a delight for DS, he can rootle through everything just as happily.

Tree presents are wrapped in fabric Japanese-style, or fabric bags (I have made a ton of these and DS loves recognising the bags every year).

I have friends who stack all the gifts on the sofa un-wrapped for Christmas morning, their children aren't bothered about paper - just excited about gifts!

If you want to wrap stickingbgifts, i'd suggest tissue paper or crepe paper twisted round to look like a boiled sweet/cracker. I'm sure things wouldn't unwrap themselves in a stocking enough to warrant more sellotape.

I use Christmas themed tissue paper (last year it was just plain red and white stripes, this year it's Santa faces) and they are sealed with a Christmas sticker. Only small items in stockings here so fairly easy to wrap as above.

Another vote for tissue paper wrapping here - no tape or ribbon. Nerds must as DH are always half cut late on Christmas Eve when we do the stockings.

Festive paper sweetie bags here for most things (eBay has lots of sitters to sized ones) and tissue paper for long/odd shaped items. Really quick and easy!

elquint yes, rootling around on the duvet to find everything that slid out of the stocking is part of the fun.
