Many of the wine subscription people such as virgin wines or laithwaites do special offers of a case for around th at amount for new customers.

Ive used both and thought laithwaites had the better wine but there wasn't much in it.... Just remember to cancel your subscription afterwards!

Can you recommend any red wines from those companies?

I'd find out if she's in the wine society & if not buy her a 'subscription'. Its £40 and you get a £20 voucher towards your first order. They send lots of info in the post and are great value. You could do that and also but a nice bottle at shop. Alternatively, go to an independent wine shop & seek advice. Best if you know some stuff she likes
