I am not much of a drinker but wanted to make some interesting cocktails for Christmas.

What are your favourites for the festive season?

there is a nice one in Nigella's Christmas book called poinsettia. Nice festive red colour. Prosecco, cointreau and cranberry juice.

I make Nigella's poinsettia every Christmas, it's delicious! Also French Martinis (vodka, pineapple juice and chambord)

I do one for MIL which is a third each of prosecco, ginger ale and cranberry juice. She is diabetic and can't drink much so if I do with sugar free juice and ginger ale she can have a couple. I found it on Pinterest I think.

I like champagne- have a couple of bottles of Bollinger stashed away. And I like Baileys too.

Not a big cocktail fan really.

I like what Nigella calls Christmas in a Glass, which is prosecco with gingerbread syrup.

Last year we also drank quite a few Black Russians made with Salted Caramel Kahlua.

A sicilian done my way Grin

Chill martini glasses in freezer. In a cocktail shaker add equal proportions of gin and aperol with ice. Shake. Pour into frosted iced cocktail glasses and top up with prosecco. Fabulous orange colour and just delicious to drink!

That does sound good Roussette. I do like Aperol.

A classic champagne cocktail is favourite here, into a champagne flute drop a sugar cube and add several drops of Angostura bitters, add a small measure of brandy, and top up with champagne, lovely on Christmas morning! Xmas Smile

I had a snowflake last weekend which was exactly my sort of cocktail - gin, champagne sorbet, lemon juice and sparkling wine. I've not heard of it before but if I can find a source of champagne sorbet I'll be serving it over Christmas.

Me too because it isn't too sweet. I love cocktails but not if they're sickly! No idea on the proportions of mine I had to keep trying to get it exactly how I like it haha

I'm not a huge cocktail fan but some of these have me reconsidering for Chris this year!

Also not a huge drinker throughout the yea but I am partial to a baileys. Especially over Christmas.

Cold Christmas: eggnog, or sparkling

Hot Christmas: Dark and Stormy with lime and mint added, or sparkling

Not a cocktail, but in the evening with the fire lit I love a very large glass of Baileys with ice and a big slug of brandy (Hennessy, please) heaven Xmas Smile

Porn star martini, but not sure how to make it - will look it up. Had it in a restaurant/bar recently and it was lovely.

You’re all making me want a liquid lunch.

I’ve bought some British Cassis to put in my Champaign this year.

I'm making notes!

I love sloe gin with prosecco but you've got to be careful because it's very easy to drink too much on those!

Some fab ideas here, I’ve got some of the gingerbread syrup, so I’ll be giving that a try very soon.

An after dinner favourite of mine is crème de menthe frappé, a bit old fashioned I know, but still lovely! Chin-chin!

Favorite Christmas drink is eggnog made with shit loads of brandy/whiskey/rum.
I live in the Caribbean though so generally a favored Christmas cocktail is a mudslide with a sparkler in the top.
Not a massive "cocktail" fan generally but Christmas day will be Bellinis as I really like them. And it's not really a cocktail, more champagne with peach puree. Easy!

Christmas Cosmoplitan

This is my favourite. Essentially vodka, cranberry and lime - but with ginger flavours instead of traditional orange. Deeeeeeeeelicious.
