That plus a new cookbook might be nice?

If they are coffee drinkers, previously well received gifts have been an aeropress with cappuccino cups or some fancy coffee.

Cherry stoner/olive pitter. Mine comes out to restaurants so we can feed dd the complimentary olives without risk of choking or waste. I don’t even care that that makes me a middle class wanker.

Otherwise I like a good slotted spoon and having been watching Nigella I fancy one of those baskets crossed with a spoon she uses for fishing out and draining pasta.

I also like a moulin grater but worry about other people slicing off their fingers so maybe don’t buy that.

Beautiful serving platters. You can’t have too many different shapes and sizes.

Gravy/sauce boat. Gives me immense pleasure every time I use it.

Slate table mats. Smart, simple, go with everything.
